How can we improve Proton Pass?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.

  1. Support older versions of iOS

    i'm broke, apple force me to use IOS 15.8, the proton pass app need IOS 16.

  2. Add Color to passwords/hidden fields and capital letters

    Hi,

    I noticed that Passwords have color. But Hidden Fields do not on iOS. They do on Android. There should be an option to color those hidden fields like they are in Passwords. So have an enable/Disable option to allow that to happen on any field created. Lastly Capital letters are not colorized.

    Here are the colors as they are right now:

    Special Symbols - Green

    Numbers - Purple

    Capital Letters - none

    I believe that capital letters should have a color.

    That color should be pink or any color that go along with the apps color scheme.

  3. Customize font for Notes, Hidden Fields and Text

    Hi, I believe that the fonts for hidden fields, text, and notes need to be changed. The reason being is the uppercase i and lowercase L look too similar to spot the different.

    The font on this website is similar to the app. They look like this so the i and L look like this together:

    So if a random password is:

    ABclNYI

    Also 0 and capital O look pretty similar the zero should have a font where there is a line through it so that the zero can be differentiated between capital O…

  4. Increase password generator to 128 characters

    There needs to be a way to create random usernames through the password generator. Lastly the password generator character length is 64 this should be changed to 128 characters like Bitwarden has.

  5. Autosave unsaved edits on mobile

    I am frequently distracted while I'm in the middle of adding some text to a note or login). For example, I spent time updating my shopping list, got distracted at some point, opened my shopping list at the store, and noticed I hadn't saved anything new.

  6. Sync browser extension settings

    Would be nice for Proton Pass to sync my selected settings in the "general" tab for browser extensions. Like the setting for Pass to ask if I'm trying to save the password. But more importantly, the exclusion list. Once i log out of a device and log back in, all the exclusions are gone.

  7. Unify design language around disabling aliases between SimpleLogin and Proton Pass

    Users should be able to disable an alias, but enable it when it is needed. The design of SimpleLogin does this correctly. Users should not need to "move an alias to the trash" in order to disable that alias. When an alias is kept long term, but in a disabled state, it should not remain in the "trash." This is very counter-intuitive behavior. Disabling and enabling each login should be a simple toggle, not a complex action of moving in and out of the trash when a user wants to accept mail at that address again. If anything, the trash…

  8. Space "Move to" and "Delete" further apart in multiselect app options

    When multiselecting items the "Move to..." and "Delete" options are right next to each other. Thankfully both have confirmation prompts with different appearances, but I would feel much more comfortable if the delete button was placed much further away especially for those with limited fine motor function control.

  9. Add more fields to cards

    The card seems generic enough for most credit/debit cards, but needs custom fields, like the logins have.

    I need to add Name, Address, additional pin codes, sources, process numbers, unlock key, unlock digital address key, document number.

    So, by adding the "Add more" option like we have in logins will give this flexibility.

  12. Stay open in taskbar tray

    What's the point of having an application for Windows? What I would expect is obviously that it remains open in the taskbar tray (it MUST be open somehow), then the most important thing: it has to have a function, for example filling in logins and passwords in different applications (including in browser, without, in this case, needing a browser extension). I see absolutelly nothing with or without using it at all o.O

  14. Easily accessible 'New Item' button (similiar to New message in Proton Mail)

    To add a new item (login, alias, etc), I have to move all the way to the top-right of the screen and click a difficult to see plus sign (Carbon theme). There should be a bright-colored "New" button in the top-left of Proton Pass, just like the "New Message" and "New Event" buttons in Proton Mail and Proton Calendar.

  16. Set alias display name

    We need to be able to set the Display Name for an alias (hide-my-email) in Proton Pass. Currently can only do this in SimpleLogin. Should be a natural part of creating or updating an alias in PP.

  17. Personalize alias

    Actually, when we want to create an alias through Proton Pass, the suggestions are like :
    - visitedwebsite.tld as a prefix
    - a few suffixes like @personaldomain.tld or @subdomain.simplelogin.com, or many others like the previous ones

    Since many years, I create my aliases as visitedwebsite0123@personaldomain.tld, which seems more convenient to me. 0123 is a random string given by a script I wrote to remember and create my aliases.
    So, a great feature would be to be able to personalize the way to create prefixes, with something like :

    visitedwebsite([0-9a-z]{4})@mydomain.tld, as an example.

  19. Choose font per item type

    Let user define the font to use on kind of item.
    I'm using notes to store application licence that can be multi-line, so using fixed font would be help full on readability

  20. Export selected vault

    Export now exports all vaults.
    I would appreciate only the selected/default vault.
    Especially important when exporting as .csv
    Other possibility:
    Add a column named "vault" in the .csv file.
