Safari Extension - macOS
It’s hard to argue that Safari is a major desktop browser, but I imagine it would be even harder to convince Safari users to part ways from iCloud Keychain when the only option to use Proton Pass on macOS is to install a new browser. Which is why an extension for Safari would be very much welcome. Perhaps even some smart integration with existing Proton Bridge? I’m sure your developers could cook up something nice for Safari users.

I was all set to migrate from iCloud Keychain but the family and I use Safari across the board, so this is a critical issue for me. I'll be migrating (and paying for a family pass) as soon as this is available.

This continues to be the single biggest holdup from adopting Proton's entire ecosystem for me. I need to be able to make the transition from 1Password Family as easy as possible on my wife, whose workflows all depend on Safari. It's super frustrating that the single biggest browser on MacOS still does not have support, especially considering how basic the dedicated mail app is, (my assumption is it's electron or just a web app in a wrapper). Where is all the dev work going?

this doesn't affect me at any level, but I believe it is a critical issue that needs to be remedied

Do you know anything new about the extension?

As your mission is a safer internet for all I'd appreciate a speedy solution.
Migrating others to Proton and is much easier if they don't have to "learn" new browsers, etc. The very users who will benefit the most.

Can’t make the switch until this is live. Hopefully this is prioritized. It’s been “on the roadmap” and “coming soon” for quite a while.

Need this safari extension as soon as possible.

I am currently using the iPadOS app on my MacBook instead, but have to say that it is far from an ideal experience. Would love a proper plugin for Safari, such as I have for Firefox.

It would really help. I want to go back to Safari from Firefox.

Highly recommend we get this done. Been over 275 days since the team has updated us on this.

I've been using ProtonPass for my work-related passwords since launch, but can't switch to using it for my personal passwords until you support Safari for macOS.
I know this is 'planned', but can it be prioritised? It's been on your radar since launch and it's extremely disappointing that it's still not been released.

ProtonPass for web is nice, but having a native extension for Safari would make my life so much easier. Switching tabs and copy-pasting is tedious. I might have to switch to Firefox for my primary Mac browser.

I was looking to follow in my colleague's footsteps and switch to Proton for mail, vpn and password manager. However, no support for Safari is a no go. Very impressed with what you offer, but this is a dealbreaker.

Trying to import from LastPass. For some reason I can’t do this through the iOS app. Your instructions say to do this through the browser extension. Only Safari has extensions in iOS. I’m trying to migrate my services over to Proton, but you’re making it REAL HARD. Frustrated…

Having an extension for Safari, or at least some option to get passwords in Safari is paramout for my workflow. Safari is my main browser on macOS, not using anything else.
However, trying out the iPad app to have it available, is worth a try. -

I unfortunately can't make the full switch from my current password manager until this feature is completed.
