Manage Passkeys
Please add the possibility to store passkeys as well
Hi everyone!
We're excited to share that you can now save, store and edit passkeys in Proton Pass — available now for everyone on all platforms.
Note: The updated Firefox extension is rolling out and will be available soon.

It would be super sweet if this app could upgrade the passwords we store in here into a passkey... That way we would be able to say goodbye to passwords, along with hackers; and say hello to simplistic security for every account we have...

Can't move to Proton Pass until this is built in.

A must-have. No brainer. That's why I haven't made the transition yet. I use all the other services except this one because I don't want to manage two password managers.

I need this feature, as soon as possible!

Please add passkeys to the login options (not just 2FA).

Yes, that's a critical feature for me as I already have a few PassKeys logins at my 1Password account.

I REALLY need that feature, and I will swap instantly. im using 1Password for like 4 Years now, before i used Bitwarden for like 3 Years, I tested multiple others like NordPass, Dashlane and even Lastpass (I don't understand how this still exists). But I would instantly switch to Proton Pass if they would support my beloved PassKeys. All the other features, the Integration into the Proton ecosystem, everything is perfect if PassKeys would be supported. Love to see that It's now on planed. Can't wait to hear future updates on that topic. At the moment im using Proton Mail, VPN and Drive.
@Roger "use a passkey to authenticate instead of OTP" isn't correct. it's more like you are using the passkey for the whole Login process. No email, no password, no mobile number, no username. Just a "Yes, I want to log in on that page"-Button, and Passkey is doing the "magic" for you.

Passkeys need to replace passwords ASAP. I use 1Password. It is leading the charge to passkey adoption. When Proton Pass fully embraces passkeys then I will enthusiastically consider using it.

This would be monumentally helpful

I am really impressed that I can use a passkey to authenticate instead of OTP. I suggest you change the security page wording from FIDO2 security key by adding (Passkey).

@Z, claiming "this is very dangerous" might be misleading. As long as Proton Pass implements this correctly, your concerns are moot.
Servers that assist in the syncing of passkeys across a user’s devices should NEVER have the ability to view or use the private keys for a user’s passkeys.
So, let's hope Proton Pass does the responsible thing and implements this according to FIDO specs.

This is very dangerous. Passkeys should not be backed up on cloud. They should never leave the device, but I get the pressure since other managers are doing it. But passkeys should be device locked and you should have lots of devices with lots of passkeys for the same account

This is critically required on Apple devices to migrate away from Keychain

I think this is the only needed for a online password manager in 2023 and foreward.
