There are many times when I have Proton generate a password on a site where the website automatically moves to the next screen essentially clearing the popup that prompts me to save the password, causing me to have to instantly reset my password. It would be nice if there was a place where I could look at recently generated passwords.

Many times I generate a password, Proton does not pop up the 'save this password' window after the browser navigation. This means the password that was just generated is lost and I do not know the password for something I just signed up to. It would be really useful if you could click Proton at that point, and it could suggest 'Do you want to save the password you just generated'?

I hit this when signing up to Amplitude just now, but it's about 50/50 whether Proton correctly shows the pop up.

I have the same problem. When creating a new login, Proton Pass generates a new strong password but has no option to copy it to the clipboard. When the login is created this is not a login event so Proton Pass and the webbrowser do not offer to save the password. Congratulations, you now created a login and have no idea what the password is.

The workaround is to first use the browser plugin to create a new login and then copy and paste that password into the new password fields. But his is cumbersome and defeats the purpose of auto-suggesting new passwords.

A work around is to not use the function when it auto-detects a password field. But to use the function directly in proton pass. It then does actually copy the password to clipboard.

This however is still very cumbersome.

It has been less of an issues since proton pass has become better at detecting password fields.

While suggesting a new password for many websites and doesn't have an option to copy the password that is being filled and a lot of times the website doesn't save the user name and password automatically, so there is no way to know or save the password which has been filled.

Guys, how is this not already added to Pass?! I keep auto generating passwords and then the plugin doesn't save it so I have to reset the password and start over and generate with Bitwarden or another app that actually copies it for you so you don't immediately lose it.

So many sites are not following the traditional sign up process so it's important to save it to the clipboard in case the plugin doesn't recognize the account creation.

Another reason I want this that for some websites Proton doesn't offer to store the new credentials which causes that I don't know the password anymore and have to use the password reminder.

The idea is that a key combination (say CTRL + SHIFT + L) would automatically insert the most likely or only password from proton pass into the websites fields. This would make proton pass much faster to use.

If I could vote for this twice, I would! Please update this feature and save us users a whole lot of extra work resetting newly generated passwords every time.

Why not just autosave them as generated password like Keepass does.
If I forgot to save a new login/password in Keepass I can can go to the generated passwords and get it from there.
In protonpass it's lost and I have to get a new password for a freshly created logon.

I have been tripped up by this, but you can save the login information and add the current URL after generating a new password. It isn't seemless, but it ensures that the new password gets saved and that you can find it later.

Yes, when you are creating login credentials and let Proton Pass auto-generate a password, it should automatically be saved as a "Login". Imagine Grandma trying to use this and then becoming so frustrated on the first site they try it out on that they immediately abandon it. Definitely leaves a lot to be desired in terms of workflows. Other than this issue, Proton Pass works extremely well!!!

A shortcut that generates new password and copy to clipboard.

I'm suggesting this because there are sites where Proton don't display the suggested password option on registering.

This is very important. I only can use this feature when the website has the eye button.
It's so weird that this feature was launched without anyone think about how the user could save the suggested password.

it should ask if you want to add it if you click the "use random password" button
also the same if you login to a website and the used password mismatches the saved one (meaning the password changed)

Without this the "generate password" is insecure at best, and useless at worse. Please invest further in thorough user journey analysis, there are many holes in the flow as of today.

This was an issue for me in signing up for the protonmail uservoice feature itself.

I used the complex password, but was unable to copy it. Protonpass then failed to ask if I wanted to save the new login using the password it generated, forcing me to perform a password reset and create a vault entry manually.
