I was thinking about finding a new phone contacts app on my phone to protect everyone's privacy, but I realized I didn't trust any. Additionally, I don't really know how my phone works with contacts (Android). Does google hoover them anyway? I've turned off contacts back up and photos back up. Obviously trying to de-google. Upon accidentally making an overseas call when I thought I was using Signal, I deleted every single contacts in my phone's contacts and added the ones I wanted to keep to hardcopy and the ones I'd mostly likely need to proton contacts in the mail app. So I'm no longer relying on backup, which might be cumbersome later. It did help me realize that contacts are not so important.

An error occurred while saving the comment J commentedI found the App Lock in the Settings, although I can't enable the device lock because I don't know what Proton wants for "Confirmation." My proton password doesn't work. My proton mail device lock doesn't work. My proton pass device lock doesn't work. . . . My phone lock worked. Proton trusts my junky phone lock?! Signal does this too. Why trust my creepy *** phone's lock? Please let me assign my own pin code.

I'm trying to keep my contacts of my creepy phone (google + MUIU), but before I did it all manually, it might have been nice to sync from the phone contacts to the Protonmail contacts and then delete the phone contacts. Although, it was cathartic to find out how many contacts just didn't matter.
