Proton Pay - credit / debit card alias
Replacement to GooglePay or ApplePay.
To elaborate, a wallet that can link PayPal, credit cards (then create virtual card numbers so that the real card number is not actually exposed). It would be a cool bonus to see and manage recurring payments and such too.

I would love to have Proton Pay! Especially since apple just recently opened up NFC to third party developers. If you could make similar functionality to privacy.com or even just buy privacy.com and allow people to tap to pay with their phones without revealing their real card number that would be amazing! I'd also love the capability to have burner cards.

Privacy.com is not available where I live so a service like this would be great.
It would also be good if the ability to add an alias in stead of my real name on virtual burner cards

I currently use Privacy.com for this purpose, and it works great. Initially, I thought Proton Wallet was for anonymized cards for online purchases and was so excited.
Please, please, please, add the ability to create burner cards for online purchases and reoccuring payments.

Yeah Proton, we could get rid of Google pay and use Proton Wallet (Or Proton Pay) which could allow to pay with Bitcoins or with my credit card.

I Support your Feature request since it's maybe the same intent as my idea:

Not sure they will implement. I'm the US banks made own Paze. And it's still not really popular.
Most of banks don't support Samsung pay.
At least Proton needs to release virtual phone numbers. It's more easier for regulations.

What we actually need ^^
Alternative to Google Pay is so much needed.

This is absolutely what we need. Apple Pay does have your credentials but at least, when paying, Apple pay masks your credit card so no third party has access to your real credit card data. It's absurd what kind of data we are sharing with outers when paying with a plastic card, completely unsafe method, too.

We need something like this that works globally, not just US/Canada and not just in the EU/UK. Or, at least, in as many countries as possible.

would be great to use Proton for NFC payments with some way, using Paypal, or transfer money to a wallet of Proton and use that or have a proton debit card

I think if Proton goes down this route, they should try best to conform to what the Open Wallet Foundation is doing (https://openwallet.foundation/). They don't have anything finalized, but once they do, this seems like the direction Proton should go should they make a Google/Apple pay alternative.

Virtual cards or cards aliases would be a very useful feature to improve privacy online for many of us, and it should be offered in more places than US or Canada. For the people that says that there are alternatives that already do this, those alternatives only work for customers in US and maybe Canada. We need something that works in Europe.

Most definitely need this much needed wallet to replace Google Wallet and Apple Wallet.

It would be nice to have a private wallet app option that won't track your spending, unlike Apple and Google. It is a bit outside of Proton's venue but if they could pull it off, that would be great.

I'd love to see Proton Wallet be able to rival Google Pay, making it possible for Proton users to push another Google product aside.
This could implement your credit/debit cards, gift cards, loyalty cards etc.

It would be great to be able to create alias Debit cards that can have spend limits, the ability to destroy them after a payment and the ability to tie them to a single vendor, this would be a great competitior to sites like privacy.com

Allow users on Android (and possibly iOS if allowed by Apple) to make contactless payments at physical locations via the Proton Wallet app.
Potentially requiring support for fiat currencies or an automated currency exchange system.

I totally understand where you're coming from. While a Web3 wallet sounds interesting, having a more conventional digital wallet that can manage everyday payments would be incredibly useful. A wallet that links PayPal, credit cards, and even creates virtual card numbers for added security would be fantastic. The ability to manage recurring payments is a great bonus as well.
I've been using https://linkpay.io/, and it offers exactly what you're describing. It allows you to link your PayPal and credit cards, and it creates virtual card numbers to keep your real card number safe. Plus, it has features for managing and tracking recurring payments, making it a comprehensive solution for all your payment needs.
You should definitely check it out if you're looking for a reliable and versatile digital wallet!

Sites like Privacy.com don't support Canadian banks, so would be amazing if Proton made a service like this available.
