Attachments
(at least 25mb) to logins and notes
In bitwarden we can attach (up to 500mb) files to login items, which is helpful if you want to capture screen shots for settings, restoration keys, or even evidence. Also helpful for things like optical prescriptions.
Attachments is the ONE missing feature preventing me from fulling moving into PP from Bitwarden.

I'm adding feedback for the Proton Pass team regarding a feature I believe would add significant value.
**Note:** I'm not affiliated with 1Password or any other provider. This feedback reflects my personal opinion, based on practical needs, real-world use cases, and experience with other tools.

🔧 Use Cases
This feature has proven useful in several scenarios:1. Storing Hasura GraphQL keys, GitHub keys, and GPG private/public keys
2. Keeping Excel or text files containing credentials for connecting to credit providers and system user/password combinations
3. Personally, I find it handy for securely storing my GitHub SSH keys---
🆚 Competition Insight
I’ve used 1Password in a professional setting, where support for secure file storage was available and effective. It streamlined credential sharing and key management. Here's how 1Password implements the feature:
👉 [1Password - File Attachments on Linux](https://support.1password.com/files/?linux)---
✅ Workarounds I’m Using
While this feature isn’t currently available in Proton Pass, I’ve found a couple of workable alternatives:
1. **Use Proton Drive + Proton Pass Notes**
- Upload the file to a Proton Drive folder: [Proton Drive - Shareable Links](https://proton.me/support/drive-shareable-link)
- Share access to that folder with the group
- Then, create a note in Proton Pass with context and share the note with the same group: [Proton Pass - Share Notes](https://proton.me/support/pass-ios-share)*Note:* Shared vaults with groups are not yet supported, and I’m currently on a personal plan. I’ve already migrated most of my items. For GitHub keys, I’ve stored them in Proton Drive since it's free and secure.
2. **Use Proton Mail for File Storage**
- Send an email to yourself with the file attached: [Proton Mail - Encrypted Attachments](https://proton.me/support/encrypted-attachments)
- Since most use cases involve downloading the file, this method works reliably.I would love to hear other workarounds.

💬 Final Thoughts
While this feature isn’t a blocker for me (I’ve upvoted it but I’m not hard-pressed), I’d still love to see it added.
There are reasonable workarounds for now, but native support in Proton Pass would simplify workflows and enhance the overall experience.
I trust the team to prioritize it appropriately on the roadmap. -

From my point of vue, this is an emergency. I use it extensively in KeePass to keep passport, driving licence, medicare card scan, etc., etc. Otherwise, we need another encrypted app to keep copies of confidential documents. Proton is already one.
At least, keep the attachments in Drive if you wish, and allow users to create a link without having to share the documents! Allow to retrieve the documents from drive and decrypt them in Pass.

I give up on Proton Pass. I've been waiting for months and checking once in a while whether the most requested "under review" features did get a new status.
I asked for information from Proton here and I also @ mentioned them on Mastodon. No reaction whatsoever.
I can only conclude that Proton Pass is not a product which is taken seriously enough.

The one feature that ALL others have.
Yes, there is Proton Drive. But services are not seamlessly connected. Also, if I want to store something directly connected to a login/pwd (for instance : a QR code), why make it cumbersome like having to log into another service ?

Came here to add a +1 to this!

I'd like to be able to store ssh keys in a cleaner way. Sure, an attachment is better than stored as text.
- Be handy having CLI to manage ssh keys and config directly.
- Perhaps an ability to manage your account via dotfiles so it's version controlled therefore re-connecting ProtonPass stored keys to new terminals is more streamlined.Attachments is definitely a big let down from Bitwarden to PP.

I would love this ability. It's one thing i really miss after migrating from Bitwarden to P-Pass

Need it! Or at least an internal to way link to proton drive file from proton pass.

This is a critical needed feature. Other password managers allow documents/attachments, please add ASAP. I'm a heavy user of attachments.

* Proton Drive does not work because confidential files such as IDs should not be saved unencrypted at rest on a device, such as a local computer hard drive.
* This is important to save scans or pictures of family passports, driver's licenses, birth certificates, vaccination cards, medical prescriptions, etc

Actually it is even the other way around. Lacking this feature (and general product updates) I've started to look at alternatives

Absolutely critical. It's insane that I have to use a (free) product in addition to my paid Proton pass to securely safe sensitive files, screenshots or private key files
Can't believe this was not in the requirements from day one

I want to use all of protons software .
And it's the most expensive. But they need to respond quickly, or they will loose customers. -

Critical importance, the only thing that is keeping me with the competition.

Must have for me. For now I will stay on the competition until this is added.

@Proton
Sorry, this is starting to get ridiculous. Why do you ask for suggestions for improvement if you (seemingly) ignore the most requested features?
At least you should get an update what you are planning to implement.
I was eager to switch to Proton Pass but it's getting increasingly less likely if your non-communication persists.

This feature is very important for me. I will consider going back to Keepassxc

What's going on, Proton?!
It's been over a year and a half since this request was made and it's on the top 3 requested items.
This feature is a MUST HAVE!
It should be adaptable/be able to be integrated with Proton Drive.

Any updates @Proton?

I was moved from KeeperSecurity to Proton Family during the SL campaign and was shocked to find that there are no attachments. How can you manage your logins and backup keys without them?
As a result, I’ve made my ProtonPass just an alternative pass. If attachments are not included this year during my next renewal, I will not renew. sorry
