Unlock desktop apps with biometrics (Windows and macOS)
In addition to being able to unlock Proton Pass on macOS computers with a PIN code it would make sense to also activate TouchID as an alternative unlocking option (just like on iOS devices).
You can now unlock desktop apps with biometrics on Windows and macOS: https://proton.me/blog/proton-pass-identities-biometric-authentication

And please consider all platforms; macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Like the iOS app which also runs on macOS the desktop app needs a login with fingerprint on Mac. Currently the iOS app has more features then the desktop app.

Agreed, I want to use windows hello, and not a pin to access my browser extension.

It is both inconvenient and less secure to use a PIN to unlock passwords. This is really needed to make Proton Pass complete. Thank you for considering this request.

That + Windows Hello support which is basically the same for Windows

I will not switch to proton pass until the desktop app can be unlocked with biometrics. There's a good chance I do completely when this is implemented.

Agreed. This is an essential feature that is the main blocker from me switching entirely from 1Password.

I want to switch to Proton Pass, but the lack of this feature is a serious blocker.

"If we could have this feature, it would indeed be much more convenient."

I'm suprised this has just a few votes. Such essential feature.

I would agree. I've been using proton pass for ipad on my mac and it had this functionality. it also allowed you to login with biometrics, which was super handy

This is definitely a must.

Since the launch of the desktop apps, I wondered why they aren't available to unlock with Microsoft Hello or Apples biometrics. Nor yubi keys seem supported, which is weird for something that is so important to secure properly. The less security it has, the less likely people are going to use them.
This and the lack of system tray availability for Proton Pass makes me use a competitor instead

In addition to a PIN, ProtonPass should allow unlocking of the password vault using the fingerprint reader that many laptos have.
