I really hope that the browser extension will support unlocking using biometric methods like Touch ID.
a. For example, Bitwarden solves this issue by communicating with the desktop app.
b. Elpass (https://elpass.app/), on the other hand, uses a different approach. The browser extension is merely used to trigger the desktop app and autofill content, while all operations are handled within the desktop app.
I prefer implementation b. because it ensures that the data on the local computer is stored in a single location, rather than having one copy in the desktop app and another in the extension (even if it’s encrypted). This also results in faster response times.
