The main purpose of a password manager is to remember your logins so you only have to remember one password. Having to remember your account name and (hopefully) a secure master password every time you login is counter intuitive. It would be too tempting to short the main account password to make it more convenient but it puts all of your proton accounts at risk. The extra password feature negates the need to enter account information while protecting your other proton services.
