Adding my +3 to this. SMTP is a feature as basic and as old as email itself, literally every other email provider on the internet enables IMAP/SMTP for free users. It is really weird to me that this is one of the features Proton chooses to paywall, and to bundle it with a plethora of other costly features I personally don't need. It's like applying for a gym membership to use the treadmill twice a week, but to do so you need to also need to sign up for a personal trainer, a meal plan with home delivery, a gym-branded smartwatch to monitor BPM, and so on. Just let me use the **** treadmill!
