Agreed, this feature keeps track of every email I receive, and now forces me to periodically click through everything in the newsletter list to remove it. For a privacy focused service, the last thing I want it to do is to retain an extra copy of every message I receive even after I delete it.

I REALLY don't like the newsletters feature, and here's why. I was shocked to find that even though I had unsubscribed from some mailing lists and deleted emails that were NOT mailing lists, the newsletters feature had recorded that message. I had to go and manually make three clicks to delete every single "newsletter" record of every email it had retained the metadata for, over 100 messages and 300 clicks. And now I have to maintain the cleanliness and privacy of my mailbox by logging into the Protonmail website frequently and clearing out the newsletters section even though I have already deleted the email. This is super freaking annoying.

This would be an excellent feature, I was looking for such an option today to upgrade my mail from older keys to newer, stronger keys. This became especially evident after importing a large portion of mail from a legacy provider account which was encrypted with one of those older keys and after removing one of these keys, made all of my older mail unreadable, forcing me to have to re-import the key.

I had hope today when I saw the update which created the new categories feature and the ability to disable them, but even after disabling categories, now a feature called mailing lists persists and does the same thing that newsletters used to! For ****'s sake Proton.
