Folder and Label Organization
Folder and label organization needs to improve.
One should have the oportunity to at least sort alphabet and date added. When creating labels and folders, and when you have a lot of sub-folders it tends to get really messy and it's time consuming to try to organize this manually with drag and drop.

As someone who has over a dozen email addresses dump into my account, I need a better organization system. I currently use folders/sub-folders to separate out the email addresses, but the problem is that the filters move emails out of the main inbox into these folders. This means the only way I can see all emails is to look at the "All mail" folder which is cluttered with archived emails.
I'm going to try switching to labels to organize so I can use the central Inbox without seeing archived email, but this isn't an ideal solution and with the number of labels I need to create to replicate my folder/sub-folder structure it's goign to get messy without having labels/sub-labels.
I really appreciate the privacy aspect of Proton and am willing to deal with some inconvenience, but between this and the horrible search function it's becoming untenable.

Oh why can I not undo the 'sort' button? oh why oh why. I am now relegated to adding AAA and ZZZ in front of Folders and labels b/c I do not have the willpower to sit at my computer manually moving Folders around. Please throw us a bone here, TYVM.

I agree, I just signed up and am attempting to understand how to go about this folder/label situation. I've come from a long time Thunderbird user.

DESPERATELY needed better folder and label management options. Labels are even worse, at least there is a 'Sort' option for folders on the website.

It should be possible to sort folders either manually or alphabetically

Not able to put folders in alphabetical order is a real downside of proton.
If there is a way please help.

Why can we not put folders in alphabetical order as nearly all other email programs
are able to do?

Sub-labels need to be a thing; as a paying Proton user, this is the ONE feature that's preventing me from fully transitioning from Gmail, as I use hundreds and hundreds of labels and sub-labels.
I would also be positive if the parent label could be inherited (if one wishes!).- Label A
-- Sub-label a1If one labels it at "a1", it could also inherit "A" (as an option).

I can confirm that the manual reorganization of the files is cumbersome.
I have a hundred of them, and I systematically have to place the new folder manually to keep everything in alphabetical order.
We should have several choices of organization and it should organize automatically according to the choice permanently. -

Would be nice if there was some label integrations with SimpleLogin

I would like to see an option for automatic folder creation for each alias created or additional address created. Maybe an automatic filtering of emails from such addresses is an option is selected by the user.

The app should inherit colours for subfolders from parent folders - if selected - just like the browser version

There is some sorting for folders available via the browser, but it would be good if it was also available via the app

Improve folder management process. For example, when you add a new subfolder, the app should automatically slip it in alphabetically where it belongs under the parent folder. If your concerned that maybe the user doesn't want this, either provide a setting for "order", or preferably, scan the subfolders under the parent to determine the desired sequence.
