Different inbox for each custom email address/alias
For each custom email address/alias, a specific inbox. Or at the very least, the ability to sort emails by which email alias/address they came from.

Just setting up the email client and I must admit I'm kind of shocked this option is not available. Client looks to be developed by someone who has never run a business. For now, I'm reverting all MX and TXT changes and stay with my hosting provider. This feature in not only critical, it's the absolute foundation of any email client.

Alternatively, a separate "view" could be enabled so that one could see the the view related to all e-mails to one custom email address/alias.

As someone who has multiple addresses this is a important feature. I have numerous filters set up trying to sort my email but it's kind of overwhelming to wade through a combined inbox,.
Being able to click in to a single inbox for each address at times would be helpful but I'm looking for a certain response or item that I can't really filter for. items like confirmations that may have been sent by a third party service or contains text I don't know enough about to search. Searching for email through seven or eight addresses that often have common connections to services returns a lot of unrelated or unnecessary items that at I I'd like to avoid combing through..

Having separate inboxes is a crucial feature for having, e.g. a work and a private email address with protonmail. If I had know that mails are mixed in one inbox, I would have selected another provider.

5 years and this is still not an option? :O This was one of the reasons why I bought the unlimited, so I can separate the work and personal email.

Yep. Right now it basically treats the additional addresses as aliases for the main one, not as actual addresses, which is annoying. Especially since they HAVE this feature, but only if you’re bridging the account to a desktop mail client other than Proton

Only use one mailbox. I want to be able to SORT all of the emails by: Correspondent or Date, or Subject just like I have been able to do since email started until Google and Opera, Proton et al decided to "improve" on what was not broken and now made it much less useful. It used to be straightforward and simple. Why does "new and improved" always mean more work for the end user?

I desperately need and want there to be a sub-account or some kind of sub-email splitting.. Having everything in one inbox is so frustrating I've been scouring this site and others, and now am heavily considering just deleting all my proton emails and moving elsewhere.

Absolutely. This is the main reason I signed up for unlimited: to detach from google and re-organize all of my mailboxes. Hope it comes soon.

As an option please. Sometimes I want an alias as a second mailaddress for my (main) inbox. Sometimes a second email address (on a domain name) needs to be a separate mailbox.

It would be great to have some separation between aliases instead of a unified inbox given that I would use aliases for different purposes such as keeping personal and professional contacts separated or an alias dedicated to accounts likely to send me spam. Otherwise, I'm back to square one and creating additional accounts for this purpose instead of managing them under a singular account that I'm paying for. The folder/filter trick mentioned in other comments feels like a kludgy way of attaining the kind of separation that separate inboxes affords. I feel a good template is the way K-9 mail gives you a "unified inbox" but you can still drill down into each address separately.

I don't understand this request because it's already possible with filters. The only problem I see is that you cannot use snooze in the custom folder for the address/alias inbox. Because snooze only works on the primary inbox.

Instead of different system Inboxes for each custom email address/alias, consider using Filters with Conditions set to "If the recipient matches somedomain" to move them automatically into specific Folders such as "somedomain" which you created beforehand.

yeah, there needs to be a way to separate each custom email address. Lumping all email into the same inbox is not helpful for end user.

Why does Chase appear before my proton email address when received by other email servers?
