Delete messages with Delete-Key
Well, just like in any other e-mail client, please enable deleting messages with the Delete-Key in Proton Mail Desktop

Just another example of how Proton neglects their core platforms to invest in **** like LLMs and web office suites that no one wants. No professional will ever use their word or spreadsheet editor because it will never stand up to Excel or even Notepad++. I'm not saying those things shouldn't exist, but they shouldn't come at the expense of basic functions that have existed on computers since the 60s? Email clients from the 90s had this. Web clients have this. This desktop app lacks features we had on Usenet. If Proton didn't have a monopoly on privacy, half of us would go back to Gmail.

The fact that Proton boasts about "efficiency" with their keyboard shortcuts, and yet they don't even have a DELETE key shortcut, or even a CTRL+ Click to select multiple messages, or CTRL + SHIFT absolutely baffles the mind. Their email client and browser is absolutely terribly slow and lacks so many features...

That would be nice. In every program and all over the world, you delete something with the DEL button.
Just here, unfortunately, not. That's a little annoying. -

This is a must have for me to switch to proton mail full time. The workflow of culling emails, by selecting an email in the list, hitting delete (or archive key, etc), and then having that happen and the next email be automatically selected for the next operation is critical. I'd really like to switch to Proton mail full time, but this quality of life addition is a must have. Would love to see it!

Also it should be possible to select multiple emails in the list by holding the shift key.

Absolutely agree. I just switched to Proton and it feels so unintuitive not to be able to delete an email with the backspace/delete button on the Mac.

Agree with you 100%, Andres. Here we are in 2025 and this still hasn't happened.
Love my Protonmail and your suggestion should've been implemented by now.
C'mon PM, Git-R-Done!
Cheers!

Please! Is there any particular reason why this wasn't implemented?
