Make event color customization available to free accounts
If we want more people to move to Proton, a calendar without the ability to color code events inevitably will turn people away from even giving it a real try and eventually moving fully to a paid account. If Proton insists on paywalling such an integral feature, at least give free users a handful of color options; then if you want to paywall the color picker, at least you’re not turning away potential users with calendars that appear to lack even something as basic as color customization.

What is wild to me is that it is not even available at the lower tier paid accounts. Color coding is absolutely vital for the calendar to be a functional and accessible tool for many of us.
I desperately want to get out of Google and cannot do so if Proton is unwilling to provide basic features to the lower price tiers. I could not even get color coded calendars with a business account. Either offer colors in the calendar or at least make it possible to use other calendars like Thunderbird without paying extra for Bridge. Basic features should not exist solely in the most expensive tiered plan. But if you don't want to offer basic features to lower level plans, at least make it possible to use those features through other apps (not an ideal solution, but still better than being stuck with Google, Microsoft, or equally privacy-problematic calendar options).
Please stop treating this as a "nice to have" option. It's not. It's an accessibility issue. Color coding isn't a "cute" aesthetic add-on. It's important for parsing information and readability.
