How can I avoid duplicates when exporting Excel contacts to VCF?
My Excel file contains many repeated entries because contacts were added over several years. When I use an Excel to VCF Converter, these duplicates also appear in the final VCF file. I want a clean VCF file with only unique contacts. Is there a method for cleaning duplicates inside Excel before exporting? Or is there a tool that automatically filters repeated contacts?

Hey,
When duplicates show up in VCF files, it means that your Excel data has hidden extra rows, repeated names, or minor formatting changes that a basic free Excel-to-vCard converter cannot recognize. To avoid duplicates, you have to clean the Excel sheet first.
Steps to remove duplicates properly:
Employ the “Remove Duplicates” feature that comes with Excel.
Remove formatting by using “Clear All” so that even the hidden symbols will be taken away.
Make sure that there are no trailing spaces after names or numbers.
Don’t allow two similar records with slight spelling changes to exist.
Make sure that each contact has a unique phone number or email.
Once the file is cleaned, re-save it as XLSX and then perform the Excel to VCF conversion. A converter that is properly designed, like WholeClear Excel to vCard Converter will go through each row only once and will not create duplicate vCard entries if the data is consistent.
