Global notifications settings in calendar app
Proton Calendar currently defaults to both push and email notifications for calendar events. There should be a global setting to disable/enable these features. I never want email notifications for calendar events and so I am left to manually disable email notifications for each event. A global setting would save me time.

I would like my default notifications on the Proton Calendar to be one hour and one day (like on gmail). Is there a way to manage this in Settings?

I could not agree more. Someone in the dev team thought that users would like this default setting, without thinking that there might be users out there who don't need this. So, make it possible for every user to decide themselves what setting they want as their default, and not some developer. We already are tortured enough by devs who want to impose their so called "handy features" upon us.
