there has been a habit of using really loud, aggressive colours and dominant intrusive
notification placement within the frame of the Mail / Calendar app.

Please can you consider RELAXING your visual language and allow a bit more grace,
proportionality and good taste back into the life of your products.

The current software update reminder places a bright yellow bar end to end of the
program window using a full 10% of the app's vertical footprint. This is what one might
expect of an urgent government security warning - not a software update prompt.

Similarly explosive is a missed monthly subscription payment showing in bright red,
the same day, without even as much as an email notification and a leniency period.
