One-off disposable labels
The saved labels are great for organising emails into pre-conceived categories.
But often I just want to put a unique label on an email so I can easily identify what it's for.
e.g. I have a label "Bookings". I slap that on all my bookings and tickets: flights, hotels, events, restaurants.
But it would be really handy to be able to add a unique label (not to be saved) to each one so that I don't have to open various emails to find the ticket I'm looking for.2 votes -
Add side panel to desktop app so contacts can be managed here and not just on web
Proton Mail has a right-hand side panel for contacts and calendar in the browser version only. I would like the same for the desktop app, please. It makes no sense to me why I have to got to the browser version of Proton Mail to manage my contacts. I should be able to do the same in the desktop app.

Every Folder Should Have Timer to Delete What's Inside
The times being what they are, having my entire life stored in ProtonMail seems overly risky, even though I don't distrust ProtonMail's privacy features and policies. I mean, that's why I'm here, instead of GMail.
At the same time, there IS mail I would like to keep permanently, there is other mail that will obsolete itself (airline reservations), and still other mail that is good for a certain period but gets stale (topical research).
Each of these use cases can be handled by making a timer for auto-deletion available for each folder (including All Mail).
Ideally--

One-time view / "Burn after reading" for password-protected emails
Add an option to password-protected emails that automatically deletes the content immediately after the first view. The link would become invalid once opened, preventing forwarded access even if the password is shared.
Currently, anyone with the link + password can open the email until expiration. There is no single-use mode.
A simple checkbox in the encryption settings ("Delete after first view") would close this gap and eliminate the need for third-party tools like OneTimeSecret.

Multiple filter options
When you create or update a filter, allow having more than one entry. For example if you want mail from ebay and you don't want to create multiple filter rules, you can add ebay.com/ebay.ca/.ebay/@ebay/ to one instead of @ebay then another with .ebay . They would be separated with a / or , -.

difference between incoming and sent email for sieve filte
I often send emails to myself for reporting goals from within several applications. I would keep these emails only once. As these emails have identical headers it is not possible with a sieve filter to keep the received email (and move it to some folder if necessary) and delete the email that's kept in the sent item folder.
It would be of great help if there could be created an option to keep the incoming version of an email and delete the sent version of that email if " From:" and " To:" are the same using a sieve filter.

Link to Proton Mail in Proton Calendar sidebar.
Could you add link to Proton Mail in Proton Calendar sidebar or offer it as an option? Currently, only Contacts link appears. I noted that a link to Calendar appears in the Mail sidebar albeit limited.

Widget view in the Calendar app itself
Having just moved from Google Calendar, I miss being able to scroll through all my appointments in the way the widget shows them. Because the widget only shows two weeks and there seems to be no option for a similar view in the app itself.

An easy way to copy the sender's email address of a received email
Currently, left-clicking on the sender's email address collapses the message, while right-clicking on the sender's email address brings up the browser's context menu. Users can't perform a basic action like getting the sender's email address from their Inbox to the clipboard.

Allow bridge to bind to IP
Allow Bridge to listen on 0.0.0.0 instead of localhost to allow all mail on the local lan to be routed through a single server - rather than running a copy of the bridge on each computer in my house. This is especially important if my other request to not download the entirety of my mailbox to each instance of Bridge is not implemented.

Out of Office exceptions
Feature Request: Exceptions for Out-of-Office Replies
Proton Mail currently allows users to enable an Out-of-Office auto-reply, but there is no option to define exceptions.
I would like to see the ability to exclude specific email addresses, domains, or groups from receiving the automatic reply.
Ideally, this could also distinguish between internal and external senders, so that an Out-of-Office reply can be sent only to external contacts while colleagues within the organisation are excluded.
This would make the Out-of-Office functionality much more flexible and better suited for professional use.
Additionally, this could provide a security and privacy benefit, as users…

Calendar Auto-number recurring event titles (e.g., “Event 1, 2, 3…”)
I’d like Proton Calendar to support auto-numbering (or title templating) for recurring events, so each occurrence can have a unique title without manually creating separate events.
Problem
Right now, recurring events keep the same title for every occurrence. For workflows like weekly meetups or lessons, this makes it hard to track progress at a glance.
Example
Create one recurring event with a base title like:
Event {#}
Then the generated occurrences would show:
Event 1
Event 2
Event 3
…and so on.Suggested implementation
Add an optional toggle like “Auto-number occurrences” or allow placeholders in the title:
{#} = occurrence…

Keep deleted events in a folder for 30 days to allow recovery in Calendar
I accidentally deleted an event and would like to recover it. If deleted events are stored in a separate "Deleted Events" calendar for 30 days, then I could recover the event (or at least view its details to accurately recreate it).

iOS shortcut for sending an email
It should be possible to automate proton email sending via iOS shortcuts app in the same way as it works for the Apple Mail app.
Example workflow:
1. Select Files — lets the user pick one or more files.
2. Send Email — prefilled like:
• Body text: “Hello, here’re my attachments:” and then an embedded File token (the file(s) selected above).
• Fields in the action header: with Subject and to Recipients (both are parameter “chips”).
• Extra fields shown:
• From: (optional)
• Cc: (email addresses)
• Bcc: (email addresses)
• A toggle: Show Compose Sheet (checked), meaning…5 votes -
Refilter an email to diagnose filter actions
Run an email through filters again and report which filter did what action. This would be indispensable for heavy filter users to diagnose why some mails are getting specific tags, or expiration period.
It would also help to test a newly added rule without affecting other mails, or waiting for it to run through all emails.

Allow filter to copy messages as an alternative to move
A new proton user with GB of emails from previous system. I have stopped using it as now on proton.
I have setup a folder structure to allow emails to be stored relative to name of folder. The filter moves the messages correctly, but unless I open main folders to see subfolders with new email count, I don't know what emails have been received. I cannot always respond to notification in real-time.
Allowing a filter option to copy messages rather than just move, means I am aware of what has arrived and can read / respond to it, deleting once…
