Yes pls!
Star/Unstar is already on a toggle, Read/Unread should be too!

The 'mark as read' swipe could be made 'TOGGLE read'. Thanks.

There is already the possibility to mark an email unread, why don't transform that button in "mark read" when the email is not read yet?

It's weird we can mark unread but not read, with swipe

Same wish as Davis Smith!

Please add one more swipe option: "Message marked as Unread" --
We also need to 'mark as unread' after viewing a message to indicate that it requires re-reading and a reply. (A 'star' indicates for many something else). This feature would give much value and it's so easy to implement.

As some comments (but not the most recent ones) mention, this feature can be set on the swipe settings under settings--for both android and ios. Not sure about browsers.

I think this function is very needed. The "Message marked as read" action is already available, but I think it should be slightly modified to make it really powerful. Instead, the action should be "Message marked as read/unread". The behavior would be:
- When a message is read and this action triggered, such a message becomes unread.
- When a message is unread and this action triggered, such message becomes read. Many users want to mark messages as unread as reminder to read them more carefully later. Also, some users want to mark messages as read when they're unimportant and you don't want to see it highlighted in your mailbox.
Thank you!
P.S - Very similar request:

I have the same request for the iOS app. Most other standard mail applications offer swipe to mark as read (including built in mail app on iOS).
Of course, if you enabled IMAP we could just use the native mail app and you wouldn't get all these requests ;)

The swipe feature is offered in the ProtonMail Android app. Located in the settings menu on the app. The swipe feature can be turned on/off and also be changed to do different functions. It's very rare when I use ProtonMail on the website. I love the easy to use uncluttered interface of the app. In the future it would be good to include what platform you're suggesting a feature for so the team can make note of it. With the swipe feature already offered on Android they might think you're talking about the app and not pay attention to your suggestion.

This is the feature I want most and main thing preventing me from using Proton Mail full time.
