Support TouchID on iOS or Fingerprint+Secure Element to log into the app
To simplify access to the mobile app and mantain a certain level of security, it would be interesting to add as an option to use the secure element for all phones that support it to store the key and allow an easier and quicker login.
The iOS app now supports TouchID: https://protonmail.com/blog/protonmail-ios-v1-2-3-release-notes/

I'd prefer if the TouchID login prompt didn't show the email ID

Yes!! I use this on my outlook.com app. It allows me to open the app with my fingerprint. I would love to see this feature on my ProtonMail app.

I don't think that this is a good idea. Ever thought about what happens if your fingerprint gets stolen? You can always change a passwort but you won't every be able to Change your fingerprint. So if you implement that feature in iOS or Android, please make it entirely optional. I'd rather see Yubikey support.
Here's an aritcle about stolen fingerprints: https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/aug/10/htc-fingerprints-world-readable-unencrypted-folder -

I'd go for TouchID plus a four-digit code.

A 4-digit pin code to access the app would be ideal. Apps like Dropbox and CloudMagic already have this feature.

Indeed, this is a great idea

Definitely a needed feature – long passwords are a pain to type on a mobile device, but no authentication mechanism is bad practice.
Even a short code (separate from device unlock) would be better than nothing.
