Forwarding email from Proton Mail
It would be great if we had the option to forward email to other email providers. services.
Thanks to your feedback, you can now automatically forward emails sent to your Proton Mail account to any email address: https://proton.me/support/email-forwarding
Email forwarding is available for everyone with a paid Proton Mail plan.

My use case doesn't work. Please allow to forward without confirming, or else please send the confirmation link in a PDF attachment. I want to forward messages containing PDF receipts to my Concur account but I can't see the plain text confirmation message. I can only see PDF attachments in Concur.

Actually, this is not the kind of forwarding I was talking about. My request inadvertently got lumped in with something else. I was referring to being able to forward an email that is part of a thread to an individual recipient, without including the entire thread. The thread is not relevant to the recipient, but that particular post is. My organization maintains threads as a way of recording interchanges, but often particular posts need to be pulled out to be sent separately to other recipients. I haven't been able to figure out how to do that. It always shows up as three dots following any additional notes I might have added (mainly to let them know that this is a forwarded email and why). I will add that people in my organization are all volunteers, so use a multitude of email systems and clients.
In reading through earlier comments, it appears that others are requesting this kind of forwarding too, but their use of forwarding (of single posts to new recipients) has also been confounded with auto-forwarding of posts to a different address.

Please make it possible to forward to an email address multiple times. I have several newsletters I would like to forward to my Readwise account. They all need a specific ruling.

I frequently receive emails that are meant to be forwarded to the group I chair (I usually add an introductory comment . But Proton forwarding is peculiar: it acts as if the forwarded email is part of a conversation and only shows it as the 3 dot ellipse. The recipient then has to guess what to do. I appreciate the encrypted privacy of Proton, but this is not workable for how I work. I need to be able to move communications via forwarding and have them be visible.

I want to set up a filter to auto forward an individual email from Proton. Google search shows a Proton help where this was available but I do not see the feature under my email settings.

I like the beta feature...but it currently seems not possible to have multiple rules with the same source and target address ("Forwarding already exists")? I'd like to set up specific rules to forward certain subsets of emails (defined by conditions, e.g. certain bills) to the same target account (e.g. to my wife)...i'd like to either set up multiple rules or have more flexibility in the way to define (composed) conditions such as (A and B) or (C and D) or (E and F)...

It would appear as if this function was a part of the Visionary plan/account (that is no longer available) as documented here https://proton.me/support/email-forwarding
The question is why this feature never made it to the “regular” or even “unlimited” plans. It does not appear to be on the 2023 roadmap so let’s all hope for the 2024 road map.
It would appear as if this feature has many many votes already but I’m adding 3 votes, offering up my support. So please return or enable this feature to the current plans

I think it would be great if through the normal filter options, we could specify / have the ability to forward an email that comes in to go to another email address.
This feature would be helpful for those who are wanting to share emails from sites / accounts with your spouse / partner.

Required for business integration purposes.

With my current Google Workspace, I have groups with some family members. Proton should allow us to create a group or at least create a filter to send a copy when the recipient address matches (so we can keep the same behaviour when getting messages).

How hard could this be? It's now making me think of leaving proton mail :-(

This is the only thing preventing me from moving my families mail over to proton - we currently have email alias's on the other service that deliver one email address into multiple mailboxes.

Just migrated from gmail, where I used this option, so it would be really useful in my use cases.

Necessary for families. If I get emails about a service/bill/family item, and want to share them with my spouse, I should be able to auto-forward them to her proton account. Creating a joint proton account that we both can use has been our workaround, but it's not ideal in all situations.

Pretty shocked that this is not supported. As a head of household trying to get multiple family members into the Proton ecosystem - not having the ability to setup auto forwarding is a non starter.
Of course it would be less safe. But if proton were 100% secure, no one would be able to use it because of terrible usability restrictions. There has to be a balance. Give people the option to do this NECESSARY feature. It is absurd you can do it manually, and setup filters for incoming mail - but not outgoing.
I really want to like Proton mail - but some of these are headscratchers. What email client can't auto-forward ? Like a car without airconditioning in 2023...

I was pretty surprised when I realized that this feature is not implemented. It's pretty basic to have option to forward or redirect emails based on the conditions.
