Make Archive action more prominent in (Android) app
It's pretty cumbersome to archive email in the Android app, and yet archiving can be important (more important than cluttering the inbox or deleting). Could you make it a directly accessible option?

I am a paying Business user. Why is the Product Manager trying to copy Microsoft Outlook that does not provide an easy accessible ARCHIVING feature as well? In 2024 deleting anything should not be the default.
And NO, swiping to archive is not a solution. I need to perform multiple actions. Archiving an email right away is the 95% action after reading an email for many millions of users. Why do I need to perform multiple taps for this 95% action?

This is my single biggest complaint about the android app - would be great to have either Archive as a default option or make the buttons on the bottom configurable

I archive WAY more than the current buttons (forward, mark as unread, delete, label)Honestly what would be good is if it just remembered your commonly used actions. Then it would 'just work' for most cases.

Of couse, I came here to suggest the exactly same thing. The default "quick action" when message is already opened should be configurable (someone like delete, someone archive). I don't use delete very often, I archive everything instead. It is so user unfriendly to have to click the "folder button", then choose archive (and it goes back to the list of all messages instead to the next/previous one, but that is my different suggestion for another thread). -

Agreed, from inside a message it is cumbersome, this should require only one tap.
FWIW from the inbox it is already very easy, you can swipe a message to archive it (see Settings / Swipe Actions).
