Multi-User support for PLUS subscription
I have a PLUS subscription with a custom domain for my 5 family members. I would like them to gain access to their email separately, but from what I understand this requires a visionary subscription. I would like to have this feature included in the PLUS subscription for up to 5 users (same number of users as email addresses).
In 3.10 release (https://protonmail.com/blog/protonmail-v3-10-release-notes/), we released Professional Accounts which allow a user to setup the exact number of users they need.
You can learn about all of our accounts here: https://protonmail.com/support/knowledge-base/paid-plans/.

I have tried to get around this ridiculous limitation in the following post:
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-proton-mail/suggestions/46186399-bridge-ability-to-change-password-for-individualBut it doesn't really work. I can't believe this post was made 5 years ago and we still don't have this working. I can't fully commit to Proton if I can't have my family using it. At least add support for this in Proton Bridge, so we have something to work with.
Thank God I didn't purchase the yearly subscription. The lack of basic features is driving my crazy.

I would like to add a second user (spouse) to my custom domain which I use within my plus account. But this would need a professional account which will increase the costs tremendously. Please provide an option to use a plus account for a family-sized amount of people.

I dont' think the business plan is suited for families. It has many features a family does not need and is very expensive. I would love to just be able to add the family members to the existing plus plan with the same features and same price per user. So i can just have my family under one domain.
Maybe you can limit the maximum users to 6-10 people, so that it is not that usable for businesses. -

Guys, I love what you do. Really. But your pricing is not adapted for a family. $300 (or euro) is OK for a startup of 4, but not for a family of 4...
Cheapest seems to be visionary, while the 2 children will use nothing of all the features !I don't want 4 accounts full options, I just want a custom domain name with 4 or 5 basic accounts, which is not possible now. Is it planned ?

I've been using ProtonMail for awhile now and I'd love to provide accounts for spouse and two children as well. Four (4) users in a Professional Account = $300 a year (ouch!) or $516 for a 2-year subscription, not much better. Meanwhile four separate Plus accounts $192 per year or $316 still a big bite, but much more reasonable. For family use and no need of extra domains, huge amounts of storage or unlimited sending and receiving multi-user support on Plus accounts or a Family account offering would make a great deal more sense.

For a family of 2 parents + 1 kid all with low traffic (1-5 emails a day), paying 3 x 75 = € 225 per year is just too expensive.

Protonmail we just want to add users to our PLUS plan. We dont need all the bells and whistles of the Professional Plan. I dont think this bug is completed?

I should have checked more closely and realised the 5 emails on Plus were only aliases. I’m very happy withy my user but I’d hoped I could add my wife to the account as a seperate email address. Upgrading from plus is expensuve when I only want two email addresses.

Just came to say: The plus plan would be extremely compelling if the addresses were mailboxes (as I first assumed) and not aliases. I just want me and my wife and in the future my kids to be under my domain. We probably only send 2-3 emails a day each. Not complaining, I love Protonmail but just sayin'.

75$ per user with custom domain? Time to change to an other provider. Privacy is fine and cost something but this is mercenary! Bye Protonmail

I am still trying to figure out how this feature works. I almost bought the visionary plan for me and my 3 other family members (4 of us total) but on one page it says up to 5 separate email accounts and on another it says up to 5 domains...this is confusing. I own a domain name already (my surname .com) and I would like to have the four of us with emails using that domain name leveraging protonmail (because let's face it, google is most certainly not "not evil").

The pricing for multiple users on the same domain has been changed today with the new professional plans in v3.10. Here a listing of the cheapest plans for 'n' users under the same domain:
1 user: 48$/year (PLUS subscription)
2 users: 150$/year (PROFESSIONAL subscription)
3 users: 225$/year (PROFESSIONAL subscription)
4 users: 288$/year (VISIONARY subscription)
5 users: 288$/year (VISIONARY subscription)
6 users and more: 75$/user/year (PROFESSIONAL subscription)Those are hefty prices. But programmers aren't cheap - especially in Geneva, one of the most expensive cities in the world. Custom domains are a premium feature, if you can't afford it there is always the free plan.

What can I say. I feel dumb. I should have read this. I was also expecting to be able to migrate 4 other gmail accounts to ProtonMail Plus. That is why I bought it. I feel stolen in a way. Why would I pay otherwise? Also, I am not sure why but, why aren´t you guys answering here? You should at least answer back to your users. Poor service in my opinion.

I signed up at the Plus level over a year ago because of the promise of being able to have two of us using the same domain and having separate email boxes in the future. It seems lame to waste a whole domain for just one email inbox!!! Please change this so that the Plus level allows more than one inbox.

Free tier user, but willing to pay for PLUS if me and my wife could use same custom domain.

For how long and how many users need to comment on that for you to REALLY put that on top of your priority list and listen. This is the ONLY feature that stops us and many many others from using your otherwise great service. I do not care about colors on the folders and I really do not care about the buttons on your interface. These are all nice but NOT important. What is really important is using the domain name and different emails in it. This pledge is going on FOR YEARS. Would you finally listen?

That's not honnest, and feel it is really borderline. I bought a plus subscription to get 5 emails adresses and finally they are only alias ...

I was about to migrate my whole family (4 of us) over to a plus plan until i realized that i had to get the cost-prohibitive Visionary plan. Please allow the Plus plans to be able to add-on up to 3 or maybe 4 sub-users and just charge us so much money per sub-user. Would LOVE to see this option!

Count me in as another vote for this topic!
I've been waiting for a couple of years for a few *essential* features (2FA, custom domains, sub-accounts) to come online before I commit to migrating my email over to a paid Protonmail subscription.
I think the PLUS package is proportionately priced for the customizable options, but why is the sub-accounts the only option excluded from the PLUS package?...
A 240€/yr up-charge for an extra sub-account I need, and Visionary features I will never use (ie: sending > 1000 emails per day and VPN), is a huge deal breaker for me, and I'm sure countle$$ others. This one limitation alone which makes it very difficult for me to convince some of my friends and clients to switch to PM for their primary email service. Please don't get me wrong, I'm an IT guy who whole-hearty supports PM's mission and development efforts, and want to see this awesome service reach to as many people out there as possible! But, PM really needs to re-think this pricing structure to make it more financially palatable for that average mid-level user. like me :)
Thanks and keep up the great job!!
