With project Marzipan available it should be easy to release a desktop app for Mac. Is this something you might look into?

I would like this for Windows, Mac and Linux over using the bridge.

This would be a killer app for us users that use Linux or plan to use Linux full time.

currently using Gnome in ubuntu based distro, a desktop application integrated with the notification system and as a default for sending mail, this will be a huge improvement to Protonmail is like having Bitwarden, its everywhere...
Another thing is that I'm using Nextcloud for Contacts, Calendar and Tasks. Those are integrated into my Gnome setup using online accounts and maybe this can interact with a desktop Protonmail application to have the perfect setup on the desktop.

Use the custom CSS feature. There are lots of themes available. Just search for "Protonmail dark theme"

You've never done it before, but independent developers have done it:
https://github.com/vladimiry/ElectronMail
Please the proton team try to work with them to make the application official:)
Why don't you hire this great developer?

Please implement dark mode/dark theme. Everything on my phone is dark and I prefer it, easier on eyes and cleaner to look at.
Also want a desktop app

Bridge > Outlook sucks. Countless times I just sit there waiting for mail to rock up which is immediately available on the iPhone client. Please make a dedicated Windows Store app identical to the iPhone client except with the obvious interface changes required and sharing action menu hooks into Windows Explorer / drag drop functionality.

Yes, this is a real weakness, having to go through only the Web app. Please make a convenient desktop client version.

Basically, I do prefer desktop applications with mail notifiers like that of Kiwi for Gmail on the Mac for instance. It would be really nice if there was one for Linux as well. Thanks

I too would love to see a Desktop Email client just for protonmail. That way instead of trying to keep up with everyone else's email client, you would be able to dedicate your focus to ONE .. YOUR OWN. I use Thunderbird and the Bridge is not always working well with it.

I concur as well. This is frustrating. I dislike Windows, but for many it is still among the industry standard. Also, I actually donate and promote Protonmail to others. Help.

I use a mailserver provided by my domain registrar for my custom domain emails. It would be nice to be able to sync this mailbox within in the ProtonMail browser UI or mobile application and use it as a mail client also. This would keep all of my emails in the one place.

I know ProtonTeam would see this as one more problem, but in fact it would solve lots of problems that already exist:
1. No need to forward all my other inboxes to protonmail;
2. Since I won't need to forward all my other inboxes, the fake spoofing mail error won't be a problem;
3. Won't need 2 apps in order to use Proton on my Desktop (Thunderbird + Bridge), the client only would be good; -

there are a lot of email clients outthere, don't need to dev a new one.
just support the standard protocols to retriever emails from here.
