Proton Mail MacOS app
For MacOS, for more protection, we should get a new MacOS app for ProtonMail. This is a more simple way of using ProtonMail instead of visiting the website or creating new encryption methods for existing mail apps (such as apple mail).

A ProtonMail app for MacOS would be really helpful. I don't love Thunderbird and occasionally have hiccups with it, but want to keep my emails saved locally, so keep using it via ProtonBridge. But, I would LOVE an app for Mac, like on my phone, to eliminate the extra step with the bridge.

Why would it hurt to ship the iPad app to macOS?

I just came here to make a similar suggestion. Please enable the Proton Mail app for download for new Macs running the Apple silicon. I could be wrong but I thought it was straight forward for iPad apps to run on Macs with Apple silicon now.

It's time to develop and release a native, Proton Mail app for Apple Mac OS. It's way past time to keep us using the "Bridge" kludge as a workaround to not having a separate, Proton Mail app for Mac OS.

I would be thrilled to install the excellent iPad app on my Mac. Have y'all considered using Mac Catalyst to port the iPad app to Mac?

We need something like the Mailplane app (MacOS) for Gmail where you can open multiple tabs with mail, calendar, contacts for multiple accounts and work with them as a desktop app while essentially wrapping the web interface. I don't like the way typical desktop clients force you to use their interface and compromise the design language and functionality that the web interface provides. Presently hunting around for the open browser tab with Proton Mail and constantly having to sign in again makes the service very cumbersome to use on the desktop. Please take a look at mailplaneapp.com and do that for ProtonMail. Thanks.

Doesn’t the paid tier support IMAP? Couldn’t you then use the mail app on MacOS?

OMG - I am so sick of ProtonMail in a browser on a MAC - drives me nuts. Before I start down the bridge path with Thunderbird or similar is there ANY chance you are going to bring out your own native app?

Dear Authorities,
Mail application should be done for MacOS operating system and dark theme should come for iOS mail application.
In addition, as a suggestion other than these; free mail data storage space can be better than 500 MB.
Thank you!
Yours sincerely.

I opened lately a free Proton Mail account.
When I receive e-mail with an attachment, on my Proton Web page, I need to download it to be able to see its content.
Is it possible with Proton Bridge, to have my Proton e-mails coming directly to my Apple e-mail box and so be able to see the content immediately via Powerpoint?
If so I would appreciate you explain me the procedure to follow.
I understand I will have to upgrade my membership and pay a subscription fee. Awaiting for your prompt reply. -

Mac GPG has nice features (icons). These clearly indicate whether a message is encrypted or signed. It would be nice to have something of the same sort in Apple Mail when using the proton mail Bridge. That is, to know clearly when sending (or receiving) a message to/from a protonmail user (or other relevant user) that the message was in fact encrypted, rather than to assume so. In fact, I'd like to see Proton Mail as an app or, I suppose, integration of proton mail into Canary Mail and/or other Mac email clients.

I detest always working out of a browser.

After the WWDC 2019 it should be very easy to create a ******************************************. Just configure the Protonmail iPad App from iOS: https://developer.apple.com/ipad-apps-for-mac/
That would be great! -

Hello
I would love to have a dedicated ProtonMail App for MAC OS !
I know it is possible to work on the MAC with the Proton Bridge App, but it is somehow difficult and even sometimes laborious. It is actually what refrains me to switch completely to ProtonMail }
After each update, it is necessary to change again the ports setting (à la try and error...) to Getafe thé App woking again.
Even the Bridge is working and connected via Ports normally working, it happens quite often that I have no connection with Apple Mail.
I need to restart the computer, make sure the Bridge is still connected, and maybe it will then work.
Not really an Mail App that is reliable for the everyday work ! And il needs somme knowledge to make it work !
I would really love to have an dedicated App the really works ! And if that daz really comes, I will be able to change over completely to ProtonMail !
Any chance to see that one day ?
