Would appreciate to see such a neat integration from Proton, as well - on iOS as well as on my MacOS-machine!!

Excuse my language, but the usability of Proton's contacts integration on phones is very lousy... As a valid address book for phone contacts Proton is not of use at all. One cannot place any FaceTime-/Signal-/etc. calls out of Proton contacts. Placing normal phone calls is at least possible, but really not handy. Furthermore, one does not see incoming caller names on the screen, as the contacts feature is not integrated into the device, at all. Please do something about that!!

It is one of the most important point what I really miss.

Fyi before you go back to Google, use tuta for contact sync

I just switched to Proton and am shocked the contacts list is hidden in the mail app and my phone app can't recognize these phone numbers. Why! Now I have to copy all my contacts to google or microsoft, which is what I'm trying to move away from in the first place.

Seven years -- this has been planned for seven years! If this had been a person missing this long, he would have been declared legally dead.

sooo sick of waiting. its been 'planned' for SEVEN YEARS now.
and in the meantime a bunch of other junk products/features that don't really matter, such as wallet and AI and other such nonsense.

Guys, what the heck?! How am I supposed to recommend proton to anyone if I can't escape google with my contacts and CAN'T RETRIEVE MY CONTACTS IF I LOOSE MY PHONE AND GOOGLE LOCKS ME OUT?!

Why even have Proton Contacts if they cannot sync to the phone?

Not being able to use the Proton Mail contacts as Android Phone contacts and in turn using the phones contacts in Mail and Calendar is an annoyance at best, a leak of personal data to Google or even a big source of confusion in the user experience with Proton.

Is there some bigger conceptual hurdle what keeps you from delivering this functionality or are you simply looking for getting this to some absurd MEME?

I have waited for this in years! The only "solution" I have found is to export from Proton to Google, then synchronize from Google to Android, disable synchronizaton and then delete all contacts from Google. I don't want to give my contacts to Google at all! Please do bring a solution soon!

It's a MUST!

This is needed to make Proton a viable competitor with the basic contacts app that comes with every phone.

The lack of this single feature makes Protonmail unusable and insecure on a new Android/iOS phone.

In order to use SMS, Phone, or secure 3rd party messaging apps, Proton forces you to use a 3rd party contact management system.

Proton has had this feature "planned" since 2019 and has not acted on it in seven years.
