spell checker for writing emails.
A spell checker has been available on almost all email accounts for the past 2 decades, but not on yours. Come on, get in tune with the 21st century and for all those who don't have brains enough to spell correctly in the first place.

I write messages in three different languages: I would like to see that the spelling checker can automaticaly detect in which language I am writing and not underline in red each word when I write in another language than the language of the interface. Thank you.

We need built-in spell-check. I have severe arthritis in my hands and RSI so without it, using your email is time-consuming to correct and see the typos I make because of my disability.

I was (past tense) thinking of switching to a paid account and had assumed a spell checker would be there as a basic feature, it now nearly 2021 and absurd not to provide one.
Does anybody from Mr Proton's team ever read thesecomments, could somebody reply and tell us?

You can also use a modern browser like Firefox, Safari, (even Chromium) that has spell check built in to every textbox

This is only a presumption, but as this service is focused on privacy and many of the spell check functions used by other services force a call back to "the server" the reason is self explanatory from that perspective. From the idea of the code for spell check being included with the code for the email function I am presuming it has to do with code maintenance, and focus on providing what they intended without scope creep causing the program to bloat. I hope my guesses as to why aren't too far off, and I would rather keep the privacy over convenience mentality intact.

I've been using Protonmail for over a year (free version) to trial if it's worth going to the paid version.
The complete lack of response on such a basic feature as a spell check is worrying .

Please add Spelling & Grammar check to the ProtonMail platform. This helps significantly with proofreading. Thanks!

No, but your browser should have spell-check functionality.
In Firefox you can add a dictionary by either right-clicking a text box, or from the Add-ons option under menu (ctrl + shift + a).
In Chrome/Opera, I believe there should be a language / spelling panel until Settings.

Hello ~ does anyone know if ProtonMail has spell check? Thank you.

Absolutely. At the moment I'm copy, pasting into Word to spell check and then re-copy, pasting into Protonmail. Suprised that this is not a basic feature.

Seems like an absolute basic requirement to me.

I will pay for a good "Spell-check" in the English language.
Will you provide this?
When? -

It seems that, no matter how many people ask for a spellcheck utility for Protonmail ... and request advice from Protonmail ... they continue to be completely ignored. I honestly thought Protonmail to be better than this.

Would you please integrate "spell check/correction" into the existing system. This feature would be a tremendous help to your users.
