Show count for drafts folder
I can't tell if this is a bug or a missing feature, but the Drafts folder on the left side of the web app shows no count of the number of drafts in the folder, unlike other folders which show the number of messages of those type in that folder.
If other folders show "unread" or "unopened" counts, then of course that wouldn't make sense with Drafts because they'll never be unread or unopened.
The Drafts folder count should show the number of drafts in the folder, period. This is at least basic logic.

Seems like a bit of an oversight, this - it really should be there. Inbox and Snoozed show a count.
Actually, that made me just realise there IS a count for Drafts, but only for unread drafts. Problem is if you are working on a draft it is always going to be "read". The drafts folder due to its nature, needs a count shown irrespective of whether they are in a read or unread state.
It's an issue for me as I've twice in the last month had another Proton user who has forgotten they had an unsent mail for me in their drafts folder.

After leaving several half baked drafts sitting in the drafts folder, this issue is becoming more CRITICAL every day.
Every other webmail that I have tried shows unsent draft count. This is becoming a deal breaker.

I am out of votes, but I agree. This feature should not cost too much effort / story points / ....
It just does not make sense to display the counter for unread drafts. The counter should display the number of drafts. -

First email client, and I have used them all, that does not show a badge with the number of items in the Drafts folder.

I can see the # of letters in my in box but I cannot see if i have any in the draft, spam, sent, etc folders. Display a number, like the in box, that shows the count of my new mail, or at least change the color of the titles of each of these folder so we can tell we have mail files in those folders.

I would like to have a count on how many drafts are in my draft folder.

I would really love to see a counter badge next to the Drafts folder (as already in place for the Inbox folder) so I can see at a glance if a message is sitting there, requiring my attention.

100% agree and this is how most email clients do it like Outlook.
To make sure that we are on top of all emails going out.
If there is no visual indication, they will get left there for any number of days or weeks.
I always have to remember to go and check that folder for any unsent/unfinished emails because there is absolutely no visual cue that there is unsent draft.

Please, this seems like such an obvious design choice.
There is always a number for the drafts folder on mainstream email clients like outlook.
Why in ProtonMail is there 0 indication that there is a draft email, so failed/unfinished emails just sit there for long periods of time with no visual indication?
This is not great UX.
Help users get their emails out and ensure all drafts are sent.

Please add a number of items in category for "Drafts" - when I fail to send a note it properly goes there. But, no number I think its empty. I just discovered a critical letter there, from months ago.

would be useful to see the number of drafts so make the drafts unread by default
