Snooze function also when conversation grouping is disabled
Recently the snooze function has been added, which is great. However it only works when conversation grouping is enabled.
For me this is a strange requirement. I don't like conversation grouping, since it groups things that don't need to be grouped. Also, I want to snooze a single email, not a complete conversation.
It would be nice to drop the conversation grouping requirement and be able to also use the snooze function when conversation grouping is disabled

snoozing and grouping are completely unrelated to each other - at least functionally for a user. Maybe the software has somehow intertwined this, but then start refactoring this please. This is totally unworkable.

Could we please have the Snooze button made available to everyone?
At the moment, it is only partially implemented and accessible exclusively to users who have Conversation Grouping enabled. This means it is not a complete implementation.
It doesn’t make sense for the feature to be limited in this way; it’s like making an email function available only to users who use a light theme or a specific layout.
Could you please extend the implementation so that it is available to all users?

Agreed. This is critical to my work flow. Grouping doesn't work for me as often emails share a common subject (and are therefore grouped), but individual emails within a group need to be handled in different ways: some may best be snoozed, others forwarded, actioned or deleted. I love the snooze feature, but don't want to group.

Ridiculous that this very useful inbox management feature is pinned to having ****** conversation grouping enabled.

many critical feature requests (basic stuff Proton should have implemented from the start) have remained unanswered by Proton for years and years.
So seeing Proton is pretty much quiet and inactive here, we are all left with either dropping Proton or finding weird work-arounds.My work-around for snoozing for when I really need it is to forward the email to myself with a scheduled send date. No, not ideal, but better than nothing.

I have at least 5 colleagues that would utilize your app or browser access for Proton if the snooze feature or a reminder system for email would be enabled without having to use conversation grouping. The conversation threads make it absolutely impossible to find messages. They are frequently missed and we all quit using Proton apps for this reason. Please add more features, especially snooze or something like it, for Inboxes that do NOT group conversations.

Conversation view is the reason why most of my colleagues do not use the Proton apps. I also struggle with it and cannot work with it enabled as messages get lost in the threads. The snooze feature is critical for business use and is why I have used other programs for years. There needs to be a way to create a reminder for an email OR snooze without using the horrible conversation grouping feature. Please, please, please create this feature!

Hey Peter,
Thanks for the update. I agree with you, sounds like bad design/code or just a line of BS.
Gmail is able to do it!!! The big bad entity that we all want ot get away from is able to do it. -

This is what proton email support replies:
---
We have received an answer from our team, and they say that snooze relies on the logical grouping of messages to function meaningfully and avoid confusion when resurfacing them later. Without conversation grouping, the snooze feature would be inconsistent or prone to errors.
---Seems to me like a bad design decision or an excuse to not have to fix the issue.
But it also tells me we have about 0% chance this will ever get fixed.
So we'll have to either deal with not being able to snooze mails, or move to another service. -

And proton support fails to give a reason for this weird design choice.
I have asked them in different forms to explain why it is how it is, but they just state that it is how it is, not the reason. -

Conversation grouping and snoozing of a single mail has nothing to do with each other.
Conversation grouping makes my mail less instead of more clear.
So, demanding to group in order to be able to snooze is clumse, to say the least. -

I hate conversation grouping and miss the ability to snooze an email when I used Gmail.

I too don't understand why the conversation grouping should be a requirement. Seems so unrelated to the snooze functionality!

I actually reverted back to gmail, because I need this in my workflow. I don't understand how the grouping actually became a requirement at all... :(

I cannot manage my inbox in conversation view. And I desperately need snooze function

Agree with all previous comments - really love snooze feature but conversation grouping is really counter-productive for me.

Completely agree. I prefer conversation grouping off, because it's always a hassle to find individual messages back, or to reply to a message in the middle of a conversation. I definitely need snoozing to keep my inbox clean. So please, please remove this link.

this is indeed very much needed feature. it is crazy that conversation is required for snooze as all other competitors don't have this requirement. i miss so many messages with conversation option enabled since all msgs with same thread are grouped. but need to snooze messages so will remind me to follow-up so in bad situation!

Voted for this as the fact that Snooze is dependent on Conversation Grouping makes no sense.

Yes please. I can't stand conversation mode, but snooze is a feature I love. It doesn't make sense why the two have to be related in Proton Mail.
