When I try to reach inbox zero I use existing tools like snoozing and send later. For me, seeing how many emails I have unread is less useful, since I (correctly) use my inbox as a triage area. Unfortunately, reading an email doesn’t mean I’ve actually triaged it, so the unread count isn’t as useful to me in this flow. What is useful is the count of messages still in my inbox (this is especially true as the inbox is where emails land when they un-snooze). All we’d need is a switch in settings that lets the badge number on the app icon show the inbox count, not the unread count.

This little feature (which I got used to in Airmail) completely changed my productivity to make me way more accountable and responsive via email. It would be baller to add it to the Proton mail client.
