Auto-Delete For Trash Folder

Auto remove after 30 days in trash and spam is a big missing feature!

Retention policies based on folder or tag, definitely!

Auto-delete of trash enhances privacy with the added security of being able to correct anything deleted in error. I think it's a must-have feature.

I would like the option to clean my trashcan and spam folder automatic after 30 days. Like Gmail does!

Retention policies based on folder or tag would be great

Optimally, it should be possible to set an automatic deletion date on items in any folder. That way, for example, items in both the Spam and Trash folders could be deleted with no human intervention.

Please create an option for the trash folder to auto-delete messages that have been in the folder for a certain set amount of time (such as 30 days, 1month, 3 months, etc) . Thanks!

* SOLUTION!*
I just found this in Proton web app. (Release 4.0.19 - Apr 06, 2022)
Select either Spam or Trash tabs, then look for the 3-dot menu in the right side of the header, click it and a "Delete all" option appears.
I don't know how long it's been there but it sure would've been helpful to lots of their costomers if they would have informed us of this.

Yes, it would be nice, but why not dump it all, Tutanota has it set up where they dump the trash about every 30-60 days.

I think it would be nice.

Trash expiration will be the best way (Things be deleted permanently after a certain amount of time i.e. 30 days or 180 days)

Please! I think that protonmail users get targeted because protonmail spam/junk management is so poor. Please add some sort of option for automatic deletion of known junk senders.

Some method to easily delete spam would be helpful. I have over 20,000 spam messages and deleting 50 in each batch will take a very long time.

Again, and it is a dead horse in a way, ProtonMail, fails in simplifying the "emptying" process of trash. The process is non-intuitive at best, and basically user hostile. Given the very long history of user/subscriber concerns as shown on this site, there is a clear disconnect in ProtonMail Support thinking or culture. Further, this demonstrates a complete inability of them to comprehend the idea of customer/audience analysis.
Hovering one's pointer over an odd looking icon labeled that reads 'More Selections' tells users, and new users in particular, nothing. Along with that, hovering the pointer on all the icons to the right of that rather uninformative icon returns nothing unless one happens to accidentally click on the ' More Selections' Icon, OR BY GOOD FORTUNE happened to come to this site and read one of these old postings and was educated by the older posts that this was how one FINALLY went about attending to that Trash; AND FINALLY found the SELECT ALL which then 'activates' those icons to the right.
So, ProtonMail, you need to pay attention to this long history of customer concern and redesign the trash system as we have requested so many times.
1. A simple single click empty everything MANUAL method
2. An automatic, timed 7, 14, or 30 day empty method option.
3. Add the delete button to the in box so it is single step. -

Could there be a way for the trash folder to auto-delete every three months or one month because that would be helpful. Thanks, Protonmail team!

I'd also like this. I'd like to delete messages from trash folder if they've been there for more than a certain amount of time (for example: delete all the massages older than 10 days in the trash folder)

I don't want to have to remember to delete all the trash from trash, that is just silly. An auto-delete feature would solve my problem. Thank you!

Please enable ability to delete all trash and/or spam all at once. 50 at a time does not work for me.
