In addition add an entry to show the user/bot has been logged out after a period of inactivity in the settings, security audit trail.

This would be especially useful on mobile app (Android)

I would like this as well, but with this tweak: give me a way to set a time limit that I'm comfortable with, both using the website and especially with the iOS app. Other security-conscious apps (e.g., 1Password) have very nice controls that determine when the app closes itself, and even how tightly in the case of 1P (full password vs. 4-digit code).
I'd even be OK with this as a ProtonMail premium feature, as long as it's a feature.

For security purposes you should be able to chose a log out timer whether your on a PC or mobile devise.

For security purposes on the Mobile Beta, you should automatically log the user out of ProtonMail completely if the user closes the window. On my Samsung Galaxy SIII, if I close the window and go work on something else, and later press the ProtonMail logo , it brings me right into my Mailbox with having to login at all. That isn't secure and could be assessed while it's open but not being viewed.
My personal banking software, on either a laptop or phone, automatically closes if the user leaves the window for any reason for security purposes.
I think it's a great idea for such a secure service. -

As a security conscious mail service, this should be a high priority. Optional session timeouts should definitely be implemented.

User is logged out if they're inactive for a given period of time.

This should be optional, so that you can just keep the tab open in the background.

After an inactivity period (let's say 5 or 10 minutes), protonmail will automatically log out the current user. It would put a nice touch of privacy and security if the user left the computer for a period of time.

Auto logout based on a user settable time.. PLUS, auto logout when you close the browser window. As it is now, ProtonMail stays logged on even when you exit the browser. That does not seem very secure. These features should be on mobile and desktop.
