Onion Address Access To Protonmail
Onion Address Access To Protonmail

You should be able to register your account over Tor as well. And why can't I create a .onion address such as example@example.onion?

@ ADMIN - this is WORTHLESS if the .onion site doesn't work for signups AS WELL AS logins and using EXISTING accounts... Why should it be limited to only accessing existing accounts? Defeats the purpose of .onion in the first place, IMHO. A bit weird that you leave and design the system like this... a bit suspicious, even... Shame because it was the one .onion address I could remember 100% of the time!
Thanks for all effort. -

I would love to use my ProtonMail account via Tor. It's just more security!

I'd like to add this to the list of requested features. A proper TOR portal would really complement the Protonmail service(s) and provide a complete end to end secure email facility.

Both hidden service access for the webmail and option to use Orbot's Tor proxy for the app would be great. It is now possible to run high traffic Hidden Services using Alec Muffet's work.

An onion address (Tor hidden service) would be awesome!
It would basically eliminate the security concerns that arise from the traditional Certificate Authority system on the regular Internet, preventing passive traffic analysis and the threat of rogue CAs issuing bad certificates.
Also, ProtonMail could have a "vanity" onion address that is easier to remember, such as "protonmailxxxxxx.onion" or "protonxxxxxxxxxx.onion" (where x's are random characters). Such vanity addresses are just as secure as normal ones and you can generate them with tools like this: https://github.com/katmagic/Shallot
A Tor onion service would also help separate Tor traffic from regular traffic, which could provide useful metrics about usage of ProtonMail over Tor.

Add support to send/receive email to/from darknet (i2p and tor): account@protonmail.i2p and www.protonmail.i2p and www.protonmail.onion addresses. Afaik it is even more difficult to prevent DDoS attacks so some protective engineering maybe needed.

It works, but not as a hidden service. See https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/7158498-tor-address
