Proton Mail Android App
android app
ProtonMail has released a free Android application:https://protonmail.com/blog/best-secure-email-app/.

The app has a big issue IMHO:
If you picked a secure password (maybe like TEGvK0Ia7NiB4ogD42mC), you'll have to enter it every time when using the app. So basically this leads to either selecting a poor password, or to write it down somewhere. Can't there be a biometically sealed password store on Android, so that I just have to "unlock" the save password? -

Dears
After I have spent about an afternoon setting all the folder and the labels of the imported accounts,
I discovered that the android app as no clue at all about the ordering, hierarchical nesting, colors and labels that it is supposed to fetch from the servers.
In the case this is not actually possible, please make my K-9 Mail client work with your credentials.
It also support PGP encryption.
Waiting for your kind reply
Thank youBR

This is similiar request that I already made at:
https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/284483-feedback/suggestions/7214966-chrome-firefox-add-on
The point should be to focus on the fact that users emails would remain secured even after Protonmail servers compromise.

This is definitely something that has limited my use of ProtonMail. A mobile app would be awesome, and hopefully free. Fingers crossed.

Any updates? With the recent LastPass breakin I am even more concerned about my email security. Just donated some funds toward your service. Hope it helps with the app :)

I'm being super hopeful that an Android and ISO app will be available soon. Once this happens itwill be the end of my Gmail account.

They should create a separate iOS/Android app to encrypt messages at the local device level. And that way it avoids the use of out of the box mail clients. iOS will even sandbox the app for enhanced security.

Tutanota beats you on this, come on guys!
Mega.co.nz is beating dropbox (at least for me) on encrypted cloud storage app
Protonmail, move fast, or I fear you'll lose out. If you want to monitise this thing then this needs to have happened yesterday. -

a simple android app can make life a lot easier for use. expecting something very similar to the type of existing android mail clients like that of gmail.

without an android app this mailbox is useless.. nobody want to manually login every day (hour? minute?) in a browser with 2 passwords..
i love protonmail but i want also to use it. -

Having such a strong password I can seldom remember it without a visual aid, so it would be nice to use the iPhone's TouchID to simply sign in!

An app is crucial. Tutanota already got one.

An app that will store the passwords permanently. The second 'mailbox' password is not seen as such by the Firefox android password manager, and external solutions are time consuming, keystroke intensive and clunky. With the phone encrypted, the user should have the choice to not continuously reenter complex/secure passwords; or be forced to dumb down their password which would make it hackable via browser/web based algorithm and dictionary attacks.

I no longer user Win and Laptop (yes I sent this from win, ugh)
I don't use apple, too pricey
I would like to have the devices/systems I do use supported
Of course I've no idea if its feasible... device power, security exposures, etc.
Keep up the good work! -

I agree with the post made on: March 13, 2015 17:38
many of us use this because its more secure then most other options and there is no way to do anything secure on any smartphone..
I suppose some users may want the app and thats fine but there should be a huge warning that comes with it..
being paranoid doesn't mean nobody is out to get you.
folders though they get my votes and encrypted attachments of course
