Desktop App High RAM Usage
Is it typical for the desktop app (running on Win10 Pro) to consistently and constantly use 450-500 MB of RAM while idle? If this level of memory usage is expected, can you work on reducing it? For comparison, two instances of Firefox, each with multiple tabs open, averages 600-700 MB of RAM when idle on my machine.

Cancel Large Jobs During Run
Some large operations take a significant amount of time. If a button is clicked by accident there is no way to cancel the operation.
E.g. I accidentally moved my entire inbox to trash when I thought I was in the spam folder. There was then no way to easily restore emails so I had to move to archive, and then go through each page to move emails back to inbox.
Had I been able to cancel the operation, this wouldn't have taken to long to recover from.

Option for product switcher to open local install
Currently in Proton Mail, there is a button which provides access to other proton tools. These tools are in fact shortcuts to the Proton website related to each tool.
The idea should be to evaluate if each tool has been installed localy and call these tools instead of going the the websites.2 votes -

Separate Options to Enable Auto-Delete for Trash & Spam
My usecase here is I only want mail deleted that I have intentionally marked for deletion. Since spam can sometimes be valid emails that were mistakenly marked as spam, I don't want those to be automatically deleted. Contrasting that, I want mail that I put in the trash to be deleted after 30 days.
Having separate toggles for these would allow for automatic deletion of trash, but not for spam.

One click print from desktop app
In the Mac OS desktop version of Proton Mail, when you select the print button, it opens a window with a print button. Then you have to select print button again which then opens the print preview pane.
Can you streamline this function into one step?

Footer option to display referral link
If one selects to include the Proton Mail footer ("Sent with Proton Mail secure email"), provide an option to hyperlink "Proton Mail" to one's referral link instead of the generic proton.me URL.
Proton Mail Settings [https://account.proton.me/u/0/mail/dashboard] > Identity and addresses [https://account.proton.me/u/0/mail/identity-addresses] > Proton Mail footer
Thanks!

time zone
Display the time zone in the email display for calendar invitations and events. When someone sends an .ics calendar invitation, I have no way of knowing what time zone the event is in, rendering the invitation almost entirely useless.

Push notification: highlight Delete email with red
When there’s a push notification of an email, based on preview, I can guess of it’s important or not. If I want to delete it, I’d tap on the notification an hold to see the context menu.
The delete option should be written in red. Like on Gmail. Every time I need to read all options to find the right one whereas with Gmail I do it instinctively not reading what’s each option.1 vote -
Customizable view setttings on mobile
Add ability to customize the view of the mailbox on mobile apps, such as changing the width of each email listing; view sender, time received, subject line, and 1st line of email body; show icons from sender instead of the 1st letter of the sender's email address, etc etc

Extend limit of 3 months for scheduling emails
Remove the limit of 3 months maximum schedule time. For my business (and personal life) it would be tremendously valuable to schedule emails a full 365 days in advance.

Panel hides bottom of New Message on Desktop Linux
Opening "New Message" opens a new window the bottom of which is obscured by the Panel. This makes Sending messages or attaching items etc. difficult without hiding the Panel.
New windows should be moveable and either sit above the Panel or within the confines of the visible App area please.

Search for Label
There's already a lot of suggestions of people trying to make more use of labels. On Gmail, I was able to associate emails with a project (following the GTD method) by applying a label to them, but this also requires fast access to the label, ideally from the search bar.
To reproduce:
1. Have a label called "project-123"
2. Have an email with the title "Important Information regarding Project 123" in your archive with this label
3. Type "project-123" into the web/mobile search bar and searchExpected: "Important Information regarding Project 123" shows up in the search results

Display email options at top of screen on iPadOS
I use an iPad which was designed to use the touch screen for typing in all kinds of positions. I feel the buttons on the bottom of the Proton mail inbox and the composition page are a hazard. For filing emails sometimes a button is touched by mistake. The email suddenly disappears and you have to waste time hunting for it in your myriad of folders. If possible move those controls to the top of the page where they are safer. I believe filing will then be more efficient with less misfilings.
