Just dropping by for my annual reminder about about what year it currently is and when you marked this feature as planned. It is not 2026. it has been 7 years since you've supposedly planned this feature. To put this into context, we didn't know what the word "covid" meant when you marked this as planned

Am I right: is this the 10 year anniversary for this requirement and is it planned since 2019 ?? It is still the obstacle to get rid of the google services !

PLEASE PRIORITISE THIS!
This function should be your higest and only priority right now.
Contacts are something you want to protect and you will not be able to swich to Proton without having that funtionality. It is as important as Calendar and email.Postpone the Sheet development or something else until the bascic functionality is in place. Thanks!
yes, I am already a paying customer.

I need this functionality. They have promised this for long but i haven't seen a usable contacts app until yet in the scene.

I deeply wanted to switch from MS to Proton, due to the common known reasons.
Unfortunately, in its current state, the product is not usable for me on a mobile phone.
As a result and lack of this feature (And adding new Contacts on my phone to Proton Contacts, which are somewhere hidden down in the Mail app ;-), I am forced to rely on a third-party provider (Like MS) for this basic functionality, even though I am trying to avoid doing so and would prefer to move away from the “big five” providers.
Additionally, I am concerned that this issue may not be receiving sufficient priority (See Roadmap Proton 2025 autumn/winter roadmaps | Proton), despite the fact that several thousand users have requested improvements in this area since 2017!! From a user perspective, contact management and caller identification are essential core features, especially on mobile devices.
Guess have to stay with MS until this feature is available :-(

The way it is now could be working for me. Adding every new contact by hand if you add a new contact. Problem is you forget to add it twice. And suddenly you do not know who is calling, or you lost a contact because you added only in one spot.
For the majority of the people it would not work at all. It is necessary to keep the contacts in sync with you addressbook on the phone.
In case I would migrate from a full microsoft cloud to here, I would nood this.

This is preventing me from using Proton as my primary contact management tool.

Appalling how such a simple and essencial feature is still not part of the Proton ecosystem. The proton team really needs to start implementing these simple features sooner rather than later. I did the whole de-google thing to Proton and I wont hesitate to de-Proton if basic QOL stuff like this isn't implemented.

As an iPhone user and Proton Unlimited subscriber (paid 2 years upfront), I am confused that we still can't step away from Google Contacts. All we need is import our contacts to Proton and be able to sync them with the native Phone app on iOS. This request has been done 9 years ago, the planning started 7 years ago. How much longer would this feature request gonna take?

Proton contacts needs to be a fully-featured web app like Google contacts in a way that enables it to be synced with phone. Right now I have to dual enter contacts - Once in Proton and once in either Apple/Google so I can keep my life in order. It's a pain, and it can be solved by Proton enhancing their contacts management.

Come on folks, listed as planned since Jan 2019; absured. This is a basic function that needs attention sooner rather than later (especially 7 years later). As others have said, it should be considered CORE functionality and rather than adding new bells and whistles, attend to this need. iOS contacts are used extensively and being able to sync them with proton mail is needed.

I just did the switch to proton. Please implement this and at least give a feedback why it is so long
