Custom DNS
It be great to have the option to set a custom DNS, such as nextDNS, to customise DNS filtering of cookies, and blocking of websites.

It is a must considering Proton's own DNS has no control or management features. I need to use my own DNS server, like NextDNS or ControlD.

I think this is a duplicate request (kind of!).
Is it possible to merge the requests if so to increase the power of the votes?

Please add support for using DoH / DoT for custom DNS.
As a temporary solution this guide works well https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comments/15x7q1q/guide_nextdns_proton_vpn_wireguard_doh3_on_ios/
Another option that works well is to install pextdns app for mac alongside protonvpn app, and in protonvpn use IKEv2. That will set up 2 VPN services in Mac, and allow nextdns to work.
For Windows you can use YogaDNS for nextdns alongside ProtonVPN, which seems to work.

I’d like to see the capability added in general in iOS much like how the Windows app allows a custom DNS. As it stands, proton VPN circumvents the DNS settings I have on iOS whenever it is on. In my particular case, the VPN bypasses content and site filtering I have on the DNS level. I can’t exactly regulate reliably it in screen time to compensate. Proton could also allow the app to defer to the DNS settings in iOS.

We need that kind of integration. Not just with NextDNS (which is y very good service that is) but ProtonVPN should really implement support for DoH and DoT as well as IPv6 when it comes to third party DNS provider

I would like to see DoT, DoH, DoQ available, not just Next DNS.

It would be nice to have DoT, DoH and QUIC connections.

As a Visionary subscriber to the Proton suite of services and a delighted customer of NextDNS, I'm very interested in the ability to use these two services together. Both show focus and excellence in applying leading privacy, security, and safety methods for online activity. Please allow users of your VPN to enable/use NextDNS.

I will like to be able to use custom DNS with Proton Vpn e.g. NextDNS. Mostly because iOS doesn't support more than one VPN or profiles at a time. But it can if the vpn app supports custom DNS. And I want to use proton I don't want another vpn service.

I would also like to have this feature on mobile clients and an option for IPv6 DNS addresses for desktop and mobile.
A collaboration with DNS providers (e.g., NextDNS) to have an easy configuration interface would be even more amazing. -

I wished Android version also have Custom DNS settings just like the Windows/Desktop version, this will allows mobile devices with enforced DNS queries for censorship to be able to use custom dns to connects to game console's private servers (ie. openspy.net, ps2online, etc)

It seems that this feature is only available with the desktop client. Would love to have this feature for iOS. Specifically, I’d like to be able to use NextDNS with my configuration profile, which would require me also being able to pass my configuration ID.

A flexible DNS would be fine.

I would also wish. Because through the VPN, the website blocker of my router does not work.
CustomDNS exists with Proton apparently only on Windows and Linux. I use macOS and iOS. There needs to be a simpler function to customize the VPN. Maybe a blacklist to enter DNS or web addresses.
