Port Forwarding support for Linux
Port Forwarding is available on Windows (https://protonvpn.com/support/port-forwarding/) but there's no ETA about its availability in Linux.
Creating this specific feature request for Linux support. Feel free to create a copy for MacOS if that's your use case.
Learn how to manually port forward on Linux: https://protonvpn.com/support/port-forwarding-manual-setup/#linux

Looking forward to this feature being completed since needing to run scripts in the terminal each time is clunky.

Port forwarding is available manually
https://protonvpn.com/support/port-forwarding-manual-setup/#how-to-use-port-forwardingThey also support Moderate NAT mode in the current Linux app
There's a cheesy kludge; https://gitlab.com/-/snippets/3634429
But these are all not quite what you're asking for so I support your suggestion

Hi! Note that this is already available in alpha: https://protonvpn.com/support/linux-prerelease/. Here's a Reddit post with some additional info: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProtonVPN/comments/13xlaey/new_features_on_linux_alpha_application/ (we recommend that you follow us on Reddit for news like this).
We plan to implement it soon into our beta version and then, eventually, into production. Make sure to share your feedback with us on Reddit, or request and vote for features you think we should add here. -

You may already know it, but in case you don't; port forwarding works if you configure the VPN manually. I still understand you'd like it as part of the CLI.

With Mullvad dropping port forwarding, this became even more important.
You even promote and provide info on how to use your VPN for stuff like secure Bittorrent clients, yet limit the use of those under Linux with a lacking forwarding option.
Please add this and in general try to not let the Linux client fall behind the Windows one.

This is pretty much a dealbreaker for me. I was enjoying the service and about to buy a 2 year plan before I realized how much of a pain it would be to get this working, for the main reason I wanted this VPN. Now I'll be looking into other providers until this is implemented. Directing users to a *reddit post* to cobble together a proper implementation is just ridiculous. So tired of Linux users being left out in the cold by everyone..
As more and more people are moving away from bloated systems like Windows things like this will become more and more important. Not all Linux users are networking wizards, I myself am still learning the ins and outs and I don't have time to sink a day or more into putting together and troubleshooting a hacked-together script off of reddit when windows users can click a single button and go on their way. Feels like a slap in the face.

I warn you, as a Linux-admin and sole user I will not pay twice for my Unlimited plan if you do not add this feature...

Please add this feature. We pay a lot of money to be treated as second-class citizens on Linux

Please delete your Idea it already exists here :
In this topic I mention the static ports forwarding for the manual setup (OpenVPN, Wireguard, IKEv2).
My idea fixes all the problem for all devices and operating system.
On Linux you probably use the manual setup so vote for this idea thank you.
