Option to exclude free servers (for subscribers)
Somewhere in the settings or connection page, please provide a way for paid subscribers to exclude connecting to FREE servers when not selecting a specific server.

I think that this is a great and also fundamental change that has to be done. Especially since the introduction of the new streamlined list the free servers have to be removed from the available servers and replaced with the plus ones, so at least a paying user can have 3/4 more servers to choose from.
Anyway this would be a bland mitigation of the frequently server congestion that we've been experiencing since the introduction of the streamlined list which, in my opinion, it's a change that should also be reverted back for the sake of everyone that is paying for a service that now happens to be severely negatively affected. Please, seriously consider the idea of going back to the full server list for all platforms.

It's frustrating when tech issues disrupt communication. On a lighter note, while waiting for things to fix, I've been using a <a href="https://tavernlantern.com/">DnD Name Generator</a> to brainstorm character names for my next game—it's a fun distraction!

Great idea for subscribers to avoid free servers and keep things smooth. It reminds me of how easy it is to use tools that simplify tasks, like how I tried an ai baby dance (https://babyboogey.com/) generator to make fun videos for my niece in no time!

Great suggestion about excluding free servers for subscribers! It makes total sense to protect that premium experience. Speaking of optimizing things, I recently used a tags generator (https://www.tagmint.app/) to help with my content's visibility - it saved me so much time creating platform-ready tags!

This would definitely be a useful option for subscribers. When using auto-connect, landing on a congested free server can affect speed and consistency, which defeats the purpose of paying for priority infrastructure.
From a performance perspective, it’s very similar to how system optimization works in other areas, if one limited resource gets used accidentally, the whole system slows down. Identifying and avoiding those constraints early usually leads to a much smoother experience. I’ve seen the same concept explained well in tools like https://thebottleneckcalculator.com/
, where the idea is to detect which component is actually limiting performance instead of guessing. An option to exclude free servers would basically remove that potential bottleneck and make auto-connect much more reliable for paid users.

Proton VPN is already strong on privacy and security, but improvements could include clearer onboarding for new users, faster global server performance, and even more intuitive settings. This is a really practical and overdue feature request. Paid users shouldn’t have to worry about accidentally connecting to congested free servers, especially when using auto-connect. An option to exclude free servers would improve consistency, speed, and overall reliability. It would also reduce confusion for users who assume their subscription https://downloadscribd.com/ always prioritizes premium servers. Small quality-of-life controls like this make a big difference in daily usage. Proton already focuses on performance and trust, and this fits perfectly with that philosophy. Hopefully this gets prioritized soon, because it would noticeably improve the user experience for subscribers.

This would be a very useful option for paid users, especially for those who rely on auto-connect and want consistent performance without accidentally landing on congested free servers. Having more granular control over server selection directly impacts speed, stability, and overall user experience. It’s similar to performance tuning, where avoiding resource bottlenecks makes a noticeable difference in real-world results. I often explain this concept to beginners using simple optimization examples on https://bottleneckcheck.com/
, because limits aren’t always obvious until they affect output. Definitely an important quality-of-life improvement worth prioritizing. -
