Further Profile Customization - Select Sever by State/Province and City
Hey all, after using Proton VPN for years, I love the features and options. However, one option I'm finding I wish I had was further server profile customization.
For instance, if I make a profile for the fastest server in the USA, I cannot select by State. However, when using family streaming accounts on a VPN, I find selecting a local State/Province helps with speed and accessibility. If my family is in Texas and doesn't normally use a VPN, but I log in to the account while connected to a Chicago VPN server, I find the streaming app doesn't work or load until I select and load a server in the same State. Further, different US States have different internet laws. If we can customize to this degree, there might be different cities in the same State/Province we should be able to further select or customize to.
So a further profile customization is not only a fix that could be easily applied, but acts as a workaround for the problem here.

Agreed. But I would be equally happy (and perhaps a little happier) if able to select the fastest server by city. Or better still, allow for selecting either: (a) the fasted by state; or (b) the fastest by city.

Yes, this would be very useful given the restrictions.
We can already create profiles for individual counties, why not cities within those counties?
And it doesn't seem like it would a hard thing to implement. Why is this taking so long?

Under "Profiles", create the option to connect to the fastest server by state. For instance, when I select the fastest server option, I often get connected to Texas servers, but I don't want to connect to Texas (some states have ID requirement laws for websites). I would like the option to connect to the fastest server in Colorado or some other state.
Alternatively, create the option to exclude certain states from the "Fastest" server profile option.

TBH, I don't care where the country boundaries are; I just want to pick a server that's not over 1000 km away. Whether the things on the map are countries or provinces or what isn't important, just that they're useful for picking a good server.

This. The current situation in the USA is like if you'd just pull all the EU servers in one group.

PROBLEM:
To enable streaming on some services I have to be "seen" as coming in from a specific geographic region ... such as "San Jose or Bay Area". PBS requires this to associated you with your local PBS subscription for example. So I am forced to select a specific server in the area to connect ProtonVPN to. But this creates a problem in that I can't use the "Fastest" feature to ensure I am getting the best speeds. This is particularly a problem when configuring a "Router VPN" connection as it is essentially permanently connected to the same server I configure when downloading the connection profile.
This is also a problem with "Always On" VPN connections ... which I cycle every so often to select the fasted server ... but the session it is hopping all over the western United States ... while I would like to keep it in a specific region/city.
FEATURE REQUEST:
If you could provide "Regional or City" server pools to configure in a Connection Profile ... for example "San Jose Region" ... and the effect was that when I connect the session selects the "Fastest" server within that specific Region ... it would provide me with the best connection speeds in that region every time I connect. And as I schedule auto-reboots on my router ... it would update the server connection to the fastest one available on a regular basis. In addition, this would provide better Load Balancing on your end. Currently your server loads are being impacted by manual selection of specific servers ... as opposed to balancing the load across servers in a region ... for example ... "San Jose".
This would be a "Win-Win" for you and your customers.
