Android TV Kill Switch
Hi,
I am a paying user of the Proton Unlimited pachage and I am very happy with Protons VPN. However, I use an androidbox on my tv and I am missing a killswitch!
Please add this as soon as possible because this is a real deal braker for me and I will probably switch back to Nord VPN if this is not fixed in the near future. I dont get why such an importand setting is not implemented in the android version of your VPN! I read many complaints about this issue on Reddit and people are looking at other, bettter VPN services that have this option.
Keep up the good work and I hope you will fix this very very soon.

Hi,
The idea of an Android TV kill switch usually comes up when people want more control over what runs on their device, especially with streaming apps that auto-launch or keep running in the background. On TVs used for entertainment, limiting or stopping certain apps can actually improve performance and privacy. I’ve seen similar discussions in streaming communities where users manage short-form drama or video apps this way to avoid unwanted updates or ads. If you’re curious how people handle these apps on Android devices in general, this breakdown helped me understand the ecosystem better: https://dramawavemodapks.com -

Even if not infallible, the fact that the feature doesn’t exist on the Android TV app is extremely frustrating. If it exists on Express VPN’s app it should existing on Proton’s for certain. The idea that I can’t direct the app to shut internet access either to the entire device or to tunneled apps is ridiculous. It’s understandable if the limitations exist for smart TVs, but for more complex devices like Nvidia the Android app should have more features than the current tv app version.

I agree with this being necessary but the android build used on Android TV lacks the necessary framework to make that happen, there are app based workarounds like with express VPN but they're not infallible. You could try to root or flash a custom OS if you realllly want an effective kill switch.
