Linux client - AppImage support

AppImage has a number of advantages that Snap and Flatpak do not have.

  1. Portability.

  2. No dependencies.

  3. Ease of use.

  4. Compatibility with any distribution.

Supporting AppImage would be a significant step for the development of ProtonVPN on Linux. For example, in countries with high levels of censorship, it can be very difficult to download the ProtonVPN client from the internet without being connected to another VPN service. A portable version of ProtonVPN would solve this problem.

    This, but please make sure that you sign the AppImage with PGP, and add documentation to your knowledge base describing how to download the PGP key that you use to sign releases and how to verify the signature of the AppImage.

    Note that AppImage has native support for PGP signing.
