As a ProtonVPN user in a region with strict censorship, I really appreciate the Discreet Icon feature, especially the calculator disguise option.
Currently, when I enter the secret formula (e.g. “12+21”) and press “=”, the app unlocks and shows the real ProtonVPN interface. However, the next time I open the app, it directly displays the VPN dashboard instead of the normal calculator.
My suggestion is to make the calculator mode persistent: after unlocking, the app should return to (and stay in) the ordinary calculator interface by default. Only when I deliberately enter the secret formula again and press “=” will it switch to the actual ProtonVPN interface.
This small improvement would make the disguise much more convincing and secure in everyday use, greatly reducing the chance of accidental exposure if someone else opens the app.
