Enhanced Bridge Mode, QUIC Obfuscation, and Always-On Alternative Routing
One feature that would be worth considering is something similar to Mullvad’s Bridge mode, designed to help users bypass network restrictions and censorship more reliably. A portion of the existing proxy infrastructure could be dedicated to operating as bridges across several dozen locations worldwide. These bridges would serve as alternative entry points for users who are unable to connect through the standard VPN servers. To make them harder to identify and block, their IP addresses should not be publicly listed, and the addresses should be rotated periodically where practical. It would also be worth exploring protocol obfuscation using QUIC or other suitable transport methods to make VPN traffic less recognizable to network filters and deep packet inspection systems.
Another important improvement would be to introduce an option that allows users to always use alternative routing, even when the application does not currently detect any connection problems or restrictions. At the moment, alternative routing may only activate when the system determines that it is necessary, but automated detection cannot always recognize every form of blocking or interference.
