1. Improve the speed of "Auto startup".

   It takes a lot of time for Proton VPN to launch & connect to a VPN server automatically. I log on and have to wait a lot before being able to use the internet as I have to wait for Proton VPN to connect to a server. This is really annoying and is like my number one concern with Proton VPN.

   One proposed fix was: https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/932836-proton-vpn/suggestions/44812795--feature-request-connect-on-boot, which says "completed" but no matter how hard I try to find this function, it, as far as I know, doesn't exist.

   Please do something about this. I'm not a developer so I have no idea how, but it is really annoying.

2. PC Performance

   I would appreciate if the Windows VPN Client could get a "minimalist" or "performance" mode with reduced footprint on system resources. Even on a modern high end PC and especially when using other Proton apps at the same time, multitasking and working, it adds up.
   Maybe we could get a setting for a minimal UI without all the fancy elements and animations? Even closed to the sys tray and being in the background, the VPN uses over 400MB RAM + dedicated GPU VRAM while constantly drawing GPU utilization causing unnecessary interrupts. It's undesireable when using the VPN while doing other GPU heavy tasks like Graphics or Gaming.

3. Secure core chaining

   I wanted to suggest a potential enhancement for the Secure Core feature. Currently, it’s only possible to select one Secure Core server as the first hop, and the exit must be outside the Secure Core network. It would be great if users could chain multiple Secure Core servers together.
   For example, it could allow connections like Switzerland → Iceland, or Switzerland → Sweden, rather than being limited to an external exit server. This would provide an additional layer of security for users who want to maximize jurisdictional protection across multiple Secure Core nodes.

4. How to recover older OLM archives on Mac without using Outlook?

   If you have removed Outlook from Mac then there is likely to be a folder of old OLM archives which cannot be opened. As Outlook OLM is exclusive to Mac it will not be accessible on Windows. However, if you install Outlook again, you will have to create a profile to access your previous emails.

   In order to access these archives you have to use workarounds which can cause issues. Installing Outlook can cause large resource usage, you could also risk altering the original archive. Converting to another client will alter the data. If it is a business archive this might not be desired. Using online converters requires transferring your emails to their server.

   What you really want is an easy way to read the archive without converting.

   Kernel OLM Viewer does exactly this. It is absolutely free and allows you to view OLM files on Windows (which is usually the issue). The tool can also open corrupted or damaged files. It allows you to view multiple archives. You will be able to view your emails, attachments, contacts, calendars and tasks all within the original folder structure.

6. Add an Easy Way to Test Websites From Different Countries

   It would be really helpful if Proton VPN offered an easier way to test how websites appear and perform from different countries. Many website owners and online researchers need to check regional website access, content availability, and location-based differences.

   For example, someone managing a website like https://the7brewsmenu.com/ might want to see how their website loads for visitors in different regions.

   A simple country-switching feature with quick server selection and connection profiles could make this process much easier. It would be a useful addition for website owners, developers, and people who work online.

7. one click enable split tunneling

   On the chrome extension if you can make a simpler way to "Add this site to blacklist/split tunnel" so that we dont have to dig through the extension settings, if it can just appear as one of the sidebar options when you first click the extension rather than having to open extension>click on features>click split tunneling>add website.

10. DNS / IP leak when re-connecting when already connected

    It seems when you are connected to a server, then click on another server, the VPN will sometimes struggle and refuse to connect or spin forever. In that moment, IP and DNS leaks are all over the place.

    Ensure this cannot happen, e.g. by blocking the connection. This could be an opt-in feature. (or opt-out).

11. Application Logs

    In settings > view logs - create a toggle to enable Application, WireGuard and Transaction logging within the application. There are benefits to having this logging available, however it should be disabled by default and only enabled for troubleshooting/debugging issues. This would improve application performance significantly and it would remove a potential privacy issue related to application log access.

12. Fix natpmp port-forwarding

    It was working great for years (natpmpc), but yesterday (2026 oct 24) it started failing. I'm not using any apps so I couldn't find a better place to report this issue, because your articles only describe how to report issues using apps. I only use wg config files. 14. Mock gps

    A vpn feature known usually as mock GPS.
    It would have different options such as masking your GPS location to match your vpn ip address or to a specific location.

    Such as the browser extension cloaq on desktop or the Mock GPS Location app on the Play Store.
    There is also a simple version included in Surfshark that only uses the matching option.

    Please add an option to sort profiles from A to Z; when there are many of them, it becomes extremely annoying. In the older version (3.5), they were sorted automatically, so I don’t understand why such a simple option is missing...

17. Continually flash/blink the tray icon whenever ProtonVPN is disconnected (but PVPN app is still open).

    Because many websites are rejecting access to users running PVPN, I must disconnect PVPN frequently in order to use vital web services. Often, I forget to reconnect when finished with the website. Please enhance the tray icon to flash/blink continually when PVPN app is open-but-disconnected so users will be less likely to forget to reconnect!

19. Split-Tunneling App List

    The current implementation of Split-Tunneling is good but I ran into a problem adding XBOX GamePass Games to it because the folder permissions does not allow Proton to open the .exe Files. I tried it by adding access rights for my user and for administrators but it still does not work.

    My feature suggestion: Add a list of installed or currently running apps that we can easily select for split tunneling.
    Or maybe a seperate Feature to add all XBOX App/GamePass Games to the exclusion

20. Feature for Proton VPN (gtk) App

    Proton VPN App creates an icon in the toolbar / app-bar, where hovering mouse over it tells "Proton VPN". That is good for the beginner, but the thing I usually want to know is 1) Where am I connected [CH-#123] or if I am not connected, 2) to tell [Proton VPN not connected]. At the present I have to open the "Show" to see the connection. Even more information could be useful, but I have no ideas for that.

    Secondly I want the "Show" appear just below the "Disconnect" option. "Quit" can well be the last one.
