Proton Docs / collaboration suite
(folders and docs similar to GoogleDocs)
Proton mail needs some collaborative word processor and spreadsheet in a drive where people can securely work on it but only the person who owns the files can keep them and no one can download them or copy them.

I had this idea too.
That's good. -

In order for Proton services to be useful for me, this ability to create/edit files is very necessary.

I agree. I don't use Proton Drive at all right now because I don't care about syncing files. However, if there was a built-in text editor that would allow me to at least create and edit basic text files it would be very useful. Thanks

When is this feature coming? Desktop Sync. It was on the roadmap for end of 2022 but I've heard nothing. Considering switching back to Microsoft for OneDrive at this rate.
Proton Team - can we PLEASE get an update? You've been silent on it from what I've seen.

I would absolutely love for ProtonDrive to have more features similar to Google Drive. It would be so amazing to have the ability to work on documents live from the drive without having to download them first.

Now that we have a Drive and Calendar alternative, it would be appreciated to have a Proton alternative to Google Docs that allows for the security the company provides. It doesn't have to be as good or have the exact same features, but having a reasonably comparable version would be great for further removing myself and related material from Google services, while maintaining the ability to edit and create from my phone and store on my Proton Drive. Having a similar sharing ability with public links would also be preferred, but understandable if it couldn't be included in an initial version.

Absolutly required to migrate to proton drive. Use links to share a folder is too limited to collaborate. We needs to access all our folders (our owned, and shared folders) from the app.

Amen. This is absolutely necessary if I'm to upgrade my Drive. Until there is a MacOS client, I'm not going to be able to use Proton Drive for my work.

How about CryptDrive? If you could incorporate CryptDrive into ProtonDrive, it would add the ability to create various files (including markdown, text docs, etc), and would go a long way towards replacement google drive.

I agree. Share drive functionality is a deal-breaker for organisational/business users.

How about grabbing some open source office software and adding it in. Just basic word processor, spreadsheet, presentation. It would be a good option for schools.

The roadmap is encouraging. (https://proton.me/blog/proton-drive-roadmap)
For me migrating off of DropBox & Google is dependent on having MacOS & Windows clients. Looking forward to seeing this deployed. -

We definitely need a Windows integration too...!

Write email > save as Draft (and you could even label it). It could already be a note app if you use it that way.

Ability to update newer file only and automatic file sync is crucial to use the service

A plain text editor would be an awesome start.

2 features: sync keeping files in device and server; move files to server and download on demand (an enhanced version would be keeping a preview file in the device, and when opened, download the actual file)

it is what is called a killer application for the usage of proton drive.

This is essential. If Skiff can do it, then Proton should be able to. (www.skiff.com - see their Pages app)

It needs to have the equivalent of Google Docs and Sheets. If Skiff can do it (end-to-end encrypted) then I don't see why Proton can't.
