Photo Albums, tagging, location search
Albums, photo tagging, search by location for Proton Drive Photos.
Pretty much like Google Photos, but encrypted. Probably without the automatic classification since that would require you to see my photos :D

Like others says, we are all looking for ways of moving from Google and Microsoft, and this is one of those features (along with phone contacts) which keeps us connected.

I want to have shared albums with my family, not one photo at a time

The important part in this feature is the automatic sync of the albums of my phone with proton drive. Currently, all the photos are put in one place, without keeping the album separation.

The sync currently indeed only pushes all photos in the same place. Would be nice, like it's done for onedrive for instance, that the albums from the phone get backed up as well. Else it's a mess.

I’ll add my voice to the din. Storing my photos is one thing. But I need to be able to find and share my photos when I need them. I can’t remember when my kid did $THING, but I can remember where they were, what they were wearing, and what type of activity it was. I need to be able to find the photo. I also need to be able to sync and share photos with my family. On Google my wife and I share our entire photo libraries so we can see both of our photos in one place. I need this. I’d also like the ability to clean up photos from my device that have been synced, but this is a lower priority. The top priority is that I need to be able to find my photos once they’re stored. I have far too many to search through visually one by one.

This is the only thing keeping me from moving from Google. I am a heavy Google Photos user. I need some sort of extra compression algorithm just like they use to be able to (voluntarily) save some extra GB of storage otherwise I will quickly run out of space.

This and sheets are the two features that keep me from migrating from googles platform. As long as I am not able to move completely, the privacy value isn't there.

This is a must-have. I am sorely disappointed in Proton and can't migrate away from Google due to this feature - its useless to have a giant bucket of photos, I want to organize them. Give me folders, tags, anything!

having albums, or any kind of navigation bar on the side (like for files, maybe automatically generated by Year/month), just something to make it easier to jump through the 10000 photos that I have

Does Proton only read all these messages? I don't feel like it. At a time when many of us prefer to play the European card against the Gafam... it would be time for Proton or a European competitor to take matters seriously into their own hands. Otherwise, many of us will desert these services... especially since they are expensive...

Albums would be great, but for me , the most useful way of searching photos are with search by location using a map ! this is the feature I am missing the most since moving to Proton, from Google Photos !

The lack of Albums is the only reason I don't backup photos with the app.

Just a basic function for users of a photo storage space, and really, really should be there already! Please, please add

Drive is a solid backup.
However controll over the photo's is a BIG issue.Being able to at least create and use albums and preserving searchable attributes makes it usefull
Photo backup to me now is a 1 out of 5 stars.
