It would be nice if The Proton Drive included A Vault ,that required an additional password For especially private material.

need this. both windows and mac. on ios for example, the app can already be set to require a faceid or pin. it should be the same on windows or mac.
i'd do cryptomator. it's redundant. but I can't open a cryptomator volume stored on proton drive on ios.

Random, not having a PIN aid a security risk. Also this feature already exists (Menu > Settings > App PIN)

request: add PIN to access protondrive on phone that is separate from the phone PIN.
use case: i do not have a lock on my phone. if i loose my phone i don't want anyone to access my protondrive. -

While I know you can set up a pin/password for proton pass already, I wish there was a way to add an extra layer of security for vaults that have personally info. Plus since you can view all vaults, if this is added then the locked vault will only show up if you put in the password of pin.

The security requirements for accounts in vaults differ. Those used for daily tasks should be easy to use. Those used for administrative tasks with high privileges require increased protection but are used less frequently. These accounts should have additional security measures, such as an extra password or security key.

Yes it would be interesting to have something similar as the personal vault in Onedrive !

My family may need to access my account one day, and I don't want them to see what is on my Proton Drive. We have a difference of opinion on various issues-which the content of my drive reflects, and I don't want them to ever know how I feel. I don't share my account with them, but its always possible they may need access in the future.

One of the things that still prevent me to move away from OneDrive, that would be awesome to have it!

be able to set a password is a priority like a private internal vault password to add a double layer encryption on some specific folder! 3 failed attempts should require full login again. or where's the privacy?

I would love to have that feature, too. Preferably with a whole folder, not only a file.

This is SO important and most services already have something like this. I'm very surprised it isn't already implemented. Please do this!!

This is an important feature, that adds extra security to very important files (id, passport, medical records) when a device is stolen, which is very common in some places of the world. Something that would work as well is compatibility with cryptomator. It would be nice to be able to use cryptomator synced with proton drive in my iPhone.

I agree, a locked folder similar to how OneDrive has a secure vault would be helpful. A use case would be on the mobile apps. That locked folder has keys and id photos that are not accessed on a regular basis, but you want to keep the Proton Drive app unlocked without a passcode so that other files can be accessed by the system for sharing, editing, by the Files app on iOS, etc.

I think having an additional folder called "vault" and required another password separate from your login password would be great. Give an additional layer of security for those files, like medical or passport info or whatever. All without having to use cryptomator. Especially when it comes to mobile devices.

To enhance Proton Drive's appeal and provide users with an added layer of security for sensitive files, consider introducing a "Personal Vault" feature. Here's how it could work:
Enhanced Security:
Require additional verification (e.g., PIN, fingerprint, face recognition, or 2FA) for access.
Automatically lock the vault after a set period of inactivity.
Encrypted Protection:Ensure files in the vault have an extra layer of encryption, reinforcing Proton Drive's commitment to privacy and security.
Cross-Device Accessibility:Allow the Personal Vault to sync securely across devices, making it easy for users to access their sensitive files on the go.
Storage Integration:Include files in the vault within the user's existing storage quota, but offer clear organization and dedicated space for critical documents.
Use Cases:Perfect for securely storing sensitive files such as identification documents, financial records, or private photos.
By offering this feature, Proton Drive would align with the needs of privacy-conscious users seeking a secure and user-friendly platform to safeguard their most important files. -

Adding a passcode to proton drive and proton mail just like in proton pass would be a great feature. 3 wrong attempts then it logs you out and will require your full password +2FA. This feature would be very useful to people who have other people around their computer at times.
